The film earned her praise from critics, and Samantha won her first Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress. 2012 became her most prolific award-winning year and she secured further recognition for Best Actress at the Vijay Awards, Santosham Film Awards and the CineMAA Awards. Popular playback singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada has been the voice of Samantha in most of her Telugu language films right from her debut in Ye Maaya Chesave. She has also dubbed for Samantha in a few of her Tamil and Hindi language films.
Seethakaathi is a 2018 Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, starring Vijay Sethupathi in his 25th lead role in a film. The film began production in April 2017. Upon release the film received very positive reviews from critics but they criticised the runtime of the film.
Nelson Dilipkumar is an Indian director and screenwriter who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He started his career with a feature film in 2010 with Vettai Mannan, starring Silambarasan. However, it was shelved due to various reasons. He later directed Kolamaavu Kokila (2018), making his debut in the industry. He directed Doctor (2021) featuring Sivakarthikeyan, which emerged a commercial success during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by Beast (2022), with Vijay in the lead role, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022. He then worked on Jailer (2023), which became his most successful film; it became one of the highest-grossing Indian film, earning over ₹600 crore (US$72 million) worldwide, collaborating with Rajinikanth. He is one of the highest paid director in India.
Godava (transl. Trouble) is a 2007 Telugu-language film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy and stars his son Vaibhav and Shraddha Arya in the lead roles alongside Sayaji Shinde who plays a supporting role. This film marks the film debut of Reddy and the Telugu film debut of Arya.
Pachai Vilakku is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Maran. The film stars Maran and Dheesha, Ammani & Sooraiyadal Flims fame Mahesh, Tara in the lead roles with Nandhakumar, Manobala, Imman Annachi, Nellai Siva, Nanchil Vijayan and Siva Shankar Master in supporting roles. Beast is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Selvaraghavan, Shaji Chen, VTV Ganesh, Ankur Vikal, Aparna Das, Sathish Krishnan, Shine Tom Chacko, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley. In the film, Veera Raghavan, an ex-RAW agent, seeks to rescue hostages in a shopping mall which is hijacked by terrorists, whose intentions are to free their leader Umar Farooq, who was previously captured by Veera.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Vinay Rai and Priyanka Mohan, with Archana Chandhoke, Yogi Babu, Milind Soman, Redin Kingsley, Deepa Shankar, Sunil Reddy and Shiva Aravind. It follows a military doctor, who seeks to rescue his ex-fiancée's niece from a child trafficker.
Ku Karthik, known by his stage name K Karthik, is an Indian lyricist working on Tamil language films. His debut film was Remo He has written lyrics for more than 70 songs.
