Sunita is a 2024 Manipuri film directed by Ajit Yumnam. [1] [2] [3] The film is produced by Brojen Yumnam under the banner of Cultural Society, Khuman Maheikol and jointly presented by Skyline Pictures and HM Production. [4] Narmada Shougaijam stars in the titular role and is based on the true story of Moirangthem Sunita. The film was world premiered at the 2nd Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival in the Manipur Matinée strand. Plot

Sunita, a visually impaired girl, studies among the sighted students. She has no idea about the blind school. She requests her friends to readout her text books and uses cassette player to listen to the lessons recorded by others. She loves sports and music. Thus, she learns Tae-kwon-do and Thang-Ta, and tabla and Mahohar Sai. But all of these give no fruitful result to her. She faces endless hardships post marriage also. Sunita is left alone by her sighted husband Api when she is pregnant with her second child. Api even claims that the baby in her womb is not his child. Despite all this, she does not lose heart. She faces the challenges to prove that a single blind woman can bring up her children well.
