Album information

In 1990, Casablanca Records in Italy issued a unique compilation of remixes in the form of the very rare "Super Remix" album. Among the album's 8 tracks is a unique remix of "Sex", while the other remixes are available on other releases, too. The remix of "Sex" is the guitar-driven version Sabrina mimed to on several TV shows in 1989/1990. A version of "Gringo" (the 5:00 Extended Remix) is also featured, making the Super Remix album the only album to contain this track.

Greatest Hits of All Times – Remix 88 remix album

Greatest Hits of All Times – Remix '88 is a remix album by Boney M. released in 1988. Boney M.'s new manager at the time, Simon Napier-Bell, succeeded in persuading the four original members to briefly reunite and promote this remix album. The man employed to re-arrange the original hits and create new interest in the band was PWL's Pete Hammond who previously had remixed many of the Stock Aitken Waterman stable's chart-topping hits with Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley and Bananarama. Five of the tracks also feature new lead vocals by Liz Mitchell. In early 2021 Pete Hammond recalled the following about the ’88 remix project which explains the new vocals: “The 2inch 24 track multi-track tapes were sent to PWL by Frank Farian of Far Music. Apparently, they had lost some of the original recordings - 4 songs if I remember correctly - and had to record 4 new versions; they were musically incomplete but good enough for me to overdub and remix.” The remix project spun off three fairly successful single releases, "Rivers of Babylon ", "Rasputin " and the 1988 "Megamix", which would appear on the follow-up album issued a year later, and created the first wave of Boney M. nostalgia in Europe.

Like a Yo-Yo 1989 single by Sabrina

"Like a Yo-Yo" is a song by Italian singer Sabrina. This song was written and produced by Italian singer, songwriter, DJ and record producer Giorgio Moroder, and was released in February 1989, as the third and final single from the album, Super Sabrina. The song's B-sides "Doctors Orders" and "Sex" appeared on Sabrina's second studio album. "Like A Yo-Yo" was Sabrina's first collaboration with disco-legend Giorgio Moroder and peaked at number-one in Finland. Additionally it charted within the top 10 in Denmark and Spain. In the United Kingdom, the single reached number 72. For the single-release, the song was remixed by the English team of Stock/Aitken/Waterman for 7" and 12" use. SAW had been responsible for Sabrina's big success with "All Of Me". Strangely, Videogram only used the 12"-remix, while Carrere in France used both, but edited the 7"-version.
