Superheat is a live album by Dutch alternative rock band The Gathering, released on 25 January 2000 by Century Media. [3] The album was recorded at Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands on 16 April 1999, with the exception of "Rescue Me" & "Strange Machines", which were recorded at 013, Tilburg, Netherlands on 28 February 1999.

The album was produced by The Gathering, recorded and engineered by Jan Schuurman at 'The Van' Mobile Studio. The album was mixed by Jan Schuurman Raymond Tabak & The Gathering at 'The Van' Home Studio, Spakenburg, Netherlands during the Summer of 1999. The album was mastered by Paul Schuurman on 1 October 1999 at 'The Van' Home Studio.

In refrigeration, superheat is the amount of heat added to the refrigerant after it has changed from liquid state into a vapor state.

It is referred to as either a studio album or a remix album, containing remakes of five songs from Disclosure, but the band consider Afterwords more like an EP. Drummer Hans Rutten has stated, "We all see Disclosure as our last studio album, and Afterwords was more or less a Disclosure after-party... It's a mini album, maybe, but it's a long album. But that said, we don't see it as a full-length album of The Gathering, more as sort of an EP kind of thing." The record is the last album before the band went on hiatus and bassist Marjolein Kooijman quit in 2014.

Beautiful Distortion is the eleventh album by Dutch rock band the Gathering. It was released on 29 April 2022 via the Gathering's imprint Psychonaut Records. It is their first full-length album in over nine years, after the band took an hiatus in 2014. It is also the first studio album to feature the band's founding bassist Hugo Prinsen Geerligs since their 2003 effort Souvenirs. He replaced Marjolein Kooijman, who played bass for the band between 2004 and 2014.
