Souvenirs is the seventh studio album by Dutch rock band The Gathering. It was released on 24 February 2003 through independent label Psychonaut Records; the label was founded by the band in 1999.
Souvenirs is the first full-length release from The Gathering since parting ways with Century Media, and the first full-length release for Psychonaut Records. The album was recorded at E-Sound, Weesp, Loud Amsterdam and A1 Amsterdam during 2002 and 2003 under the guidance of producer Zlaya Hadzich. The album was engineered by Zlaya Hadzich, Sietze Gardenier, David Klooker & Ignaz Bruens; mixed at A1, Loud & E-Sound by Zlaya Hadzich, René Rutten & Michael Buyens; and mastered by Alan Ward at Electric City.
Many speculate that it was the new experimental directions of the group, as well as the inability of the label to market them that signaled the end of their contract with Century Media. [2]
This is the last studio album to feature original bassist Hugo Prinsen Geerligs until Beautiful Distortion which was released in 2022.

On the CD version, "Telson" appears as a hidden track in the pregap. On the vinyl edition of this album, Telson is the final bonus track. There is a four-minute pregap between "Jelena" and "A Life All Mine" that often elongates the length of "Jelena" when the disc is ripped (pregaps are usually appended to the previous track in this process).
There's also a promo CD version with only the first 8 tracks. "Monsters" and "We Just Stopped Breathing" are swapped, and "Monsters" is only 4:18 long. [6]

The Gathering are a Dutch rock band formed in Oss, North Brabant in 1989. The band's lineup currently consists of founding brothers René Rutten (guitars) and Hans Rutten (drums), Silje Wergeland, Hugo Prinsen Geerligs (bass) and Frank Boeijen (keyboards).

Black Light District was released under The Gathering's own label Psychonaut Records, and it is the label's first completely new release, however, since an EP does not qualify as an album, the later released Souvenirs is widely regarded as the first new album release of the label.

René Rutten is a Dutch guitarist for The Gathering. He founded the band with his brother Hans in 1989, and together they released eleven studio albums, four live albums, and four EPs. His latest work with The Gathering was Afterwords, released in 2013. In 2015 Rutten formed a new band, "Habitants", who released their debut album in 2018.
Superheat is a live album by Dutch alternative rock band The Gathering, released on 25 January 2000 by Century Media. "Woke Up with a Monster" is a song by American rock band Cheap Trick, released in 1994 as the lead single from their twelfth studio album Woke Up with a Monster. It was written by Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander and Tom Petersson, and produced by Ted Templeman. The song was released by Warner Bros. Records as a promotional-only single in the United States, aimed at generating radio play. It reached No. 16 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks and remained on the chart for six weeks.
Disclosure is the tenth studio album by the Dutch rock band The Gathering, released via Psychonaut Records on 12 September 2012.
Afterwords is an album by the Dutch rock band The Gathering, released via Psychonaut Records on 25 October 2013. It is referred to as either a studio album or a remix album, containing remakes of five songs from Disclosure, but the band consider Afterwords more like an EP. Drummer Hans Rutten has stated, "We all see Disclosure as our last studio album, and Afterwords was more or less a Disclosure after-party... It's a mini album, maybe, but it's a long album. But that said, we don't see it as a full-length album of The Gathering, more as sort of an EP kind of thing." The record is the last album before the band went on hiatus and bassist Marjolein Kooijman quit in 2014.
Beautiful Distortion is the eleventh album by Dutch rock band the Gathering. It was released on 29 April 2022 via the Gathering's imprint Psychonaut Records. It is their first full-length album in over nine years, after the band took an hiatus in 2014. It is also the first studio album to feature the band's founding bassist Hugo Prinsen Geerligs since their 2003 effort Souvenirs. He replaced Marjolein Kooijman, who played bass for the band between 2004 and 2014.
