Suresh is a Tamil film director who directs action-masala films.
Suresh studied under various directors including Dharani, N. Maharajan and N. Lingusamy. He made his directorial debut with Arasu starring R. Sarathkumar and Simran. [1] Most of the shooting took place at Kumbakonam, in and around the temple areas. Other locations were Mumbai and Kolkata. A fight scene was filmed at the Kumbakonam market area. Five cameras were used and it took ten days to shoot the fight scene. The scene choreographed by Peter Hein and filmed by cinematographer Y. N. Murali, was shot amidst a large crowd including the hero, some stuntmen, character artistes and the locals. Close-up shots of the fight scene were shot again in Chennai Studio where a set resembling the market place was erected. [2] Sify wrote:"the narration is told in a gripping fashion with all the essential ‘masalas’ like punchy dialogues, action, song ‘n’ dance and item numbers". [3]
After the film's success Suresh again collaborated with Sarathkumar in Gambeeram , which received mixed reviews and had an average performance at the box office. [4] [5] In 2006, Suresh announced his next film titled Kattan with Prashanth. However, the film never took off despite an official announcement. [6]
Suresh made a comeback with Sabari with Vijayakanth appearing as a doctor, [7] The film received mixed reviews and failed at box office. [8] [9] [10]
He again directed Sarathkumar in Nam Naadu , remake of Malayalam film Lion. [11] The film based on politics was released at the time when Sarathkumar started a political party. The film received negative reviews and became a failure. [12] [13] After a five-year gap, Suresh directed Vavval Pasanga with newcomers Rahul (son of choreographer Lalita Mani) and Utthara Unni (daughter of Malayalam actress Urmila Unni) starring. The film's low key release meant that film went unnoticed at the box office. [14] During 2017, he worked on a family drama film titled Thirupathisami Kudumbam featuring newcomers. [15]

Prashanth Thiagarajan, known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor and businessman, known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. He has won a Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The success of this film saw him garner opportunities to work in bigger film projects and in the late 1990s, he featured in a series of breakthrough films such as Kannedhirey Thondrinal (1998), Kaadhal Kavithai (1998), Jodi (1999), Parthen Rasithen (2000) and Piriyadha Varam Vendum (2001).

Marina is a 2012 Tamil-language comedy drama film written, produced, and directed by Pandiraj and starring Sivakarthikeyan in his feature film debut along Oviya, Pakkada Pandi, and Gautham Purushoth. The music was composed by Girishh G. The movie released on 3 February 2012. It won 2 Tamil Nadu State film Awards for Best Dialogues and the Special Jury Award for Best Film. It received good reviews and had a decent run at the box-office.

The film released on 11 May 2012 to positive reviews, and became a commercial success. The film is 25th directorial venture for Sundar. The film was remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani. In 2018, the film had a spiritual successor Kalakalappu 2. The film is loosely based on the 2009 German film Soul Kitchen.

Pulivaal is a 2014 Tamil-language thriller film directed by G. Marimuthu who earlier directed Kannum Kannum, and produced by Sarath Kumar and Listin Stephen. The film stars Vimal, Prasanna, Oviya, Ananya, and Ineya. The film is a remake of the 2011 Malayalam film Chaappa Kurishu which itself was an adaptation of the 2009 South Korean movie Handphone. It started production in March 2013 and released on 7 February 2014.
Pasanga 2 : Haiku is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language children's film written, co produced and directed by Pandiraj. A thematic sequel to Pasanga (2009), the film focuses on the issue of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) amongst children and is set in the city, unlike Pasanga. The film, starring debutante child actors Nishesh and Vaishnavi in lead alongside Ramdoss, Vidya Pradeep, Karthik Kumar and Bindu Madhavi. This film is produced by Suriya, who also appears in a supporting character along with Amala Paul. The film will mark Pandiraj's last of the trilogy for children, following Pasanga and Marina.

Despite its title, the film is a spiritual successor to the 2013 film Chennaiyil Oru Naal, although Sarath Kumar reprises his role, while Napoleon, Suhasini, Ramdoss, and Baby Sathanya play other supporting roles. The music was composed by Jakes Bejoy with cinematography by Vijay Deepak and editing by Gopi Krishna. The film released on 18 October 2017.
