Sutrisno Bin Darimin (born 1975) is an Indonesian powerlifter. [1] He won three gold medals at the World Championships. In 2005, he broke the world record. The record that Sutrisno made was a total lift of 742.5 kg. [2]

Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. As in the sport of Olympic weightlifting, it involves the athlete attempting a maximal weight single-lift effort of a barbell loaded with weight plates. As a powerlifter, he was WDFPF World Champion (1995) and a two-time U.S. National Champion as well as an all-time raw world record holder in the squat and deadlift. Currently, he still holds the WDFPF world records in the squat, deadlift and total and the USAPL American record in the deadlift since 1995. He is credited for the biggest raw squat and raw powerlifting total ever performed by a drug tested athlete, regardless of weight class, as well as the greatest raw deadlift by an American citizen.

Scot Mendelson is an American armwrestler and powerlifter, who specializes in the bench press. He has broken multiple world records and is currently the raw (unassisted) world record holder in the 308-pound weight class with 701 lb (318 kg) bench press since 2002 and the equipped world record holder in the 275-pound class with 1,031 lb (468 kg) bench press since 2009. He also held the all-time world record in the raw bench press, regardless of weight class with 715 lb (324 kg) for 8 years. Working as a self-employed personal trainer, he runs his own gym called F.I.T.

Ali Jawad British Paralympic powerlifter

Ali Jawad is a British Paralympic powerlifter competing in the −59 kg class. Born without legs, he took up powerlifting at the age of 16. He competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, finishing fourth. The following year he took gold at the Asian Open Championships making a world record lift of 185.5 kg. At the 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships in Dubai, he became World Champion in his class, setting another world record, lifting 190 kg.

Powerlifting Australia Ltd. is one of the many organisations in the sport of Powerlifting in Australia. Powerlifting Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency. Grace Ebere Anozie is a Nigerian Paralympian in powerlifting. Anozie's first Paralympic medal was a bronze at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in the 82.5 kg event. At subsequent Paralympics, Anozie won a silver medal in 2008 and gold in 2012. During her career, Anozie set a Paralympic record at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in the over 86 kg event. At the 2012 Fazza International Powerlifting Championships, Anozie broke the record for most weight by a woman Paralympian in the over 82.5 kg event with 168 kilograms. After the 2012 Summer Paralympics, Anozie became a Member of the Order of the Niger.

Ano Turtiainen Finnish politician

Ano Veli Samuel Turtiainen is a Finnish former powerlifter and a politician currently serving in the Parliament of Finland for the South-Eastern Finland constituency. He is also founder and leader of Power Belongs to the People party. He lives in Juva. Turtiainen was elected to the parliament in the 2019 parliamentary election. Turtiainen was expelled from the Finns Party due to a racist tweet mocking the murder of George Floyd in February 2021.

She also won the junior under-50 kg event at the 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships, silver medal in the women's 50 kg event, and a silver medal in the lightweight event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Bonnie Bunyau Gustin Malaysian Paralympic powerlifter

Bonnie Bunyau anak Gustin is a Malaysian powerlifter. He won Malaysia's first ever gold medal in the sport in the men's 72 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, breaking the Paralympic record in the process.

Philippines at the 2022 World Games Sporting event delegation

The Philippines competed at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, United States, from July 7 to 17, 2022. Athletes representing the Philippines won one gold medal and the country finished in 47th place in the medal table.

Ana Rosa Castellain is a Brazilian powerlifter, seven-time world champion. She became the main Brazilian athlete active in the country after being inducted into the IPF Hall of Fame. She currently resides and trains in the city of Garopaba on the coast of Santa Catarina.
