Svein-Erik Edvartsen (born 21 May 1979) is a Norwegian football referee and sports management professional.

Career

He debuted as a first division referee on 11 August 2002 in the game between Skeid and Tromsdalen. He debuted as a referee in the Norwegian Premier League in 2006. Edvartsen is also a referee principal in the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation and represents Hamar IL (football) and Storhamar Dragons (hockey). [1] In 2010, an IK Start chairman called Edvartsen a "Tandori[ sic ] referee". The case received extensive press coverage. [2] Edvartsen became a FIFA referee in 2013. [3]

He is at present the CEO of the ice hockey club Lørenskog, and has previously been CEO at Storhamar and football club Hamarkameratene.

Personal life

Edvartsen was born in Oslo on 21 May 1979, and has lived in Norway since. His grandparents are from Pakistan. [4]

Storhamar Hockey, often referred to by its initials SIL, is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in Hamar, Norway. The club currently plays in the Fjordkraft-ligaen, the highest level of Norwegian hockey. The club has won seven regular season titles and seven national championships since its founding on 18 March 1957. Storhamar play their home games in the CC Amfi. The club also includes the largest junior department in Norwegian ice hockey. The team colours are yellow and blue.

Eliteserien, known as Fjordkraftligaen due to sponsorship, is the premier Norwegian ice hockey league, organised by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. The 2011 Norwegian Football Cup final was the 106th final of the Norwegian Football Cup. It was played on 6 November 2011 at Ullevaal Stadion, in Oslo, Norway. In the final Brann meet Aalesund. The winner, Aalesund, earned a place in the second qualifying round of the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League. The draw for the final was held on 27 September 2011 by the Norwegian Football Association, which decided that Brann was the home team of the final and got to play in their red home kits. UEFA-president Michel Platini came to Oslo and watched the final.

2013 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship elite round was the second round of qualifications for the final tournament of UEFA U-17 Championship 2013. The 28 teams advancing from the qualifying round were distributed into seven groups of four teams each, with each group contesting in a round-robin format, with one of the four teams hosting all six group games.
