The championships is held biennially, with competition in all five of FINA's disciplines: Swimming, Diving, Water polo, Open water swimming, and Synchronized swimming. Starting in 2015, the competition was held jointly with the FINA World Aquatics Championships.

Underwater sports is a group of competitive sports using one or a combination of the following underwater diving techniques - breath-hold, snorkelling or scuba, usually including the use of equipment such as diving masks and fins. These sports are conducted in the natural environment at sites such as open water and sheltered or confined water such as lakes and in artificial aquatic environments such as swimming pools. Underwater sports include the following - aquathlon, finswimming, freediving, spearfishing, sport diving, underwater football, underwater hockey, underwater ice hockey, underwater orienteering, underwater photography, underwater rugby, underwater target shooting and underwater video.

The 2010 European Aquatics Championships were held from 4–15 August 2010 in Budapest and Balatonfüred, Hungary. It was the fourth time that the city of Budapest hosts this event after 1926, 1958 and 2006. Events in swimming, diving, synchronised swimming (synchro) and open water swimming were scheduled.

The 15th FINA World Championships were held from 20 July to 4 August in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The 2013 World Championships featured 6 aquatics disciplines: swimming, water polo, diving, high diving, open water, and synchronised swimming.

The South American Swimming Championships are a biennial aquatics championships for countries from CONSANAT. These championships include competition in swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo, and open water swimming.

Swimming at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games was taking place July 18–23 at the RUM Natatorium in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation founded in 1920, is the aquatics national federation for Spain. It oversees competition in the 5 aquatics disciplines and Masters competition in these. As of 2022, the federation has 781 registered clubs and 66,775 federated swimmers.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2015 World Aquatics Championships</span> 16th FINA World Championships

The 16th FINA World Championships, also Aquatics 2015, were held in Kazan, Russia from 24 July to 9 August 2015. Russia hosted this event for the first time. The number of participating national teams (190), athletes (2,400) and the number of medals (75) were the most ever amongst these championships. This was the first time the World Aquatics Championships partially overlaps with the FINA World Masters Championships that have a number of athletes, countries (110) and medals (635) which are the most ever also.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 World Aquatics Championships</span> 20th World Aquatics Championships

The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, the 20th edition of the World Aquatics Championships, were held in Fukuoka, Japan, from 14 to 30 July 2023. Originally scheduled to be held in 2021 as the 19th championships, the championships were postponed until May 2022 in response to the rescheduling of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was pushed back a second time to 2023 due to ongoing travel restrictions and safety measures in place in Japan. In its place, Budapest hosted the 19th Championships from 18 June to 3 July 2022, while the originally scheduled 2023 championships in Doha, Qatar, were moved to 2024.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Spain at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships</span> Sporting event delegation

Spain competed at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain between 19 July and 4 August 2013 as the host nation.

The swimming events at the 2014 South American Games were held from March 7–10 at the new Aquatic Center of the Estadio Nacional in Santiago.

Diving at the 2014 South American Games was held in Santiago, Chile from March 15 to 16, 2014. Three competitions were held, two for men and one for women. All competition took place at the Aquatic Center National Stadium.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Singapore Swimming Association</span> Singaporean national governing body for competitive swimming

Singapore Aquatics is the national governing body for competitive swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water swimming in Singapore. SAQ is also charged with selecting the Singapore Olympic Swimming team and any other teams that officially represent Singapore, as well as the overall organisation and operation of the sport within the country.

Swimming competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 2 to 5 July 2022 at the Aquatics Complex in the Popular University of Cesar cluster, with the marathons swimming being held at Ciénaga de Zapatosa in Chimichagua, a sub-venue outside Valledupar.
