Daniele Tirabassi (born August 16, 1988) is a Venezuelan swimmer, who specialized in long-distance freestyle events. [1] He represented his nation Venezuela at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has also won a career total of five medals (two golds, one silver, and two bronze) in a major international competition, spanning two editions of the South American Games and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Tirabassi also holds multiple Venezuelan championship titles and national records in both the long-distance freestyle (200 and 400 m), and freestyle relay events. [2]
Tirabassi competed for Venezuela in the men's 400 m freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He fired off a powerful 3:52.69 to win handily over the rest of the competition and dip beneath the FINA B-standard (3:58.00) at the Latin Cup in Serravalle, San Marino. [3] Leading the first heat from the initial length until the 250-metre lap, Tirabassi tried to hold on with Norway's Gard Kvale towards the final turn of the race by just half a body length apart from each other, but could not catch him immediately to regain his lead and end up instead with a runner-up time in 3:53.26. Tirabassi failed to advance further to the top eight final, as he placed thirty-first overall in the prelims. [4]
At the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy, Tirabassi set a Venezuelan record of 1:48.51 to touch the wall first on the tenth heat of the 200 m freestyle. [5] At the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, Tirabassi posted a time of 1:52.31 to round out the field in last place on the same distance, but missed his record by nearly four seconds. Tirabassi is also a member of the Pine Crest Swim Team in Miami, Florida, where he trained with numerous world-class swimmers including three-time Olympian Bradley Ally of Barbados, and Genaro Prono, an Auburn University graduate and a breaststroke specialist from Paraguay. [7]
The swimming competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place from 9 to 17 August 2008 at the Beijing National Aquatics Centre. The newly introduced open water marathon events (10 km) were held on 20 and 21 August 2008 at Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.

Savannah King is a Canadian former competition swimmer who competed primarily in freestyle events. She claimed a bronze medal in the 800-metre freestyle at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also won a silver medal in the 4x200-metre freestyle relay by participating in the preliminary heats.
Kenneth King-him To was a Hong Kong Australian swimmer who practised individual medley, freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke. He won 6 medals at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, was the male overall winner of the 2012 FINA Swimming World Cup and was a World Championships silver medallist. He was the holder of 16 Hong Kong national swimming records.
Mateo De Angulo Velasco is a Colombian swimmer, who specialized in long-distance freestyle events. He is a 2010 NJCAA Men's Swimmer of the Year, and nine-time NJCAA champion. He also holds Colombian records in all three long-distance freestyle events. De Angulo helped his Colombian team to take the trophy in the 800 m freestyle relay at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
David Karl Brandl is an Austrian swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He is a multiple-time Austrian champion, a four-time national record holder, and a current member of Perger Swimming Club in Perg. He also won a bronze medal, as a member of the Austrian swimming team, at the 2008 European Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Stacchiotti became the youngest athlete to be chosen by the Luxembourg squad, and was given the honor of carrying the nation's flag in the opening ceremony.

She is a two-time national record-holder at the FINA World Championships, and a multiple-time high school and collegiate record-holder. She also represented her birth nation Estonia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
Maiko Fujino is a Japanese swimmer, who specialized in long-distance freestyle and individual medley events. She represented her nation Japan at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a career total of six medals in a major international competition, spanning the Pan Pacific Championships and three editions of the Asian Games. Fujino was also a student at Takushoku University in Tokyo.

Łukasz Wójt is a Polish swimmer, who specialized in middle-distance freestyle and individual medley events. He represented his nation Poland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won two bronze medals in a major international competition, spanning the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and the 2008 European Short Course Championships in Rijeka, Croatia. Apart from his international career, Wojt has also claimed multiple Polish championship titles and currently holds the national record in the 200 (1:54.81) and 400 m individual medley (4:03.20), both set at the FINA World Cup meet in Berlin, Germany.

Winner of two relay medals at the 2012 World Short Course Championships, he is also part of the quartet that broke the world record in the short course mixed 4 × 50 metres freestyle relay. In 2016, he qualified for his first Olympic Games.
