The Swiss Music Awards (SMA) is Switzerland's largest award ceremony for music, and serves to promote the national music scene and showcase its cultural diversity. The event allows newcomers to introduce their music to a broader public, while also honouring the accomplishments of the country's most successful musicians. The show is broadcast live. [1]

Anton "Toni" Brunner is a Swiss farmer and politician who presided over the Swiss People's Party (SVP/UDC) from 2008 to 2016. He was a member of the National Council from 1995 to 2018.
Ulrich "Ueli" Maurer is a Swiss politician who served as a Member of the Swiss Federal Council from 2009 to 2022. A member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP/UDC), he was President of the Swiss Confederation in 2013 and 2019. Formerly head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports (2009–2015), Maurer has headed the Federal Department of Finance from 2016 to 2022. From 2019 to 2022, he was the longest-serving sitting member of the Federal Council.
Marco Bliggensdorfer, professionally known as Bligg, is a Swiss rapper. His albums 0816 and Bart Aber Herzlich reached the spot on the Swiss charts; four of his other albums have peaked the Top 20. In 1999 and 2000, he was part of the duo Bligg'n'Lexx with rapper and producer Lexx, releasing one album together.

Luca Hänni is a Swiss pop singer and television personality. He rose to fame in 2012 after winning the ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German version of the Idol franchise. He was the first non-German to do so and also the youngest ever winner of the show. Hänni's debut single, "Don't Think About Me", topped the singles charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. It was followed by the release of his debut album, My Name Is Luca (2012), which debuted atop the Austrian and Swiss Albums Charts and became a gold-seller in both countries. His second studio album, Living the Dream, released in 2013, became his second consecutive number-one album in Switzerland.
Stephan Klapproth is a Swiss journalist, television presenter, and professor, who was from 1993 to 2015, the popular anchorman of the Swiss national evening news shows 10vor10. He also teaches journalism at the Universities of Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Zürich.
Sibel Arslan is a Turkish-born Swiss lawyer and politician who currently serves on the National Council (Switzerland) for the movement BastA!. There she concurrently also is a representative to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 2020. She previously served on the Grand Council of Basel-Stadt between 2005 and 2016.
Regula Rytz is a Swiss historian and politician of the Green Party of Switzerland. She was a member of the National Council from 2011 to 2022. From 2012 to 2016, she was the co-president of the Green Party of Switzerland. She was the party president from 2016 to 2020.
Albert Rösti is a Swiss businessman, lobbyist and politician who has been a Member of the Swiss Federal Council since 1 January 2023. He previously presided over the Swiss People's Party (SVP/UDC) from 2016 to 2020 and served as a member of the National Council for the canton of Bern from 2011 until 2022. Rösti resides in Uetendorf near Thun.

Fabian Molina is a Swiss politician who currently serves on the National Council (Switzerland) for the Social Democratic Party since 2018. He succeeded Tim Guldimann and became the youngest member of the National Council (Switzerland) ever to be elected aged 28. He previously served as President of the Young Socialists between 2014 and 2016 as well as on the Cantonal Council of Zürich from 2017 to 2018. Since 2019, he is co-president of Swissaid.

Beat Jans is a Swiss environmental scientist and politician who currently serves as a member of the Federal Council, after being elected in 2023 to succeed Alain Berset, assuming office on 1 January 2024. A member of the Social Democratic Party, he previously served on the National Council from 2010 to 2020, and president of the Executive Council of Basel-Stadt from 2021 to 2023.
Jacqueline Badran also referred to as Jackie Badran is a Swiss businesswoman and politician. She currently serves as a member of the National Council (Switzerland) for the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland since 2011. She is primarily known for her campaigns for additional affordable housing and banning Airbnb. She also holds Australian citizenship.
Federal elections were held in Switzerland on 22 October 2023 to elect all members of the National Council and Council of States. The elections were followed by elections to the Federal Council, Switzerland's government and collegial presidency, on 13 December.

Benjamin Giezendanner is a Swiss businessman and politician who currently serves as a member of the National Council (Switzerland) for the Swiss People's Party (SVP) since 2019. He previously served on the Grand Council of Aargau being elected as the youngest member only aged 18 in 2001. In the 2023 Swiss federal election he was a candidate for Council of States (Switzerland), but lost election against Marianne Binder-Keller. Giezendanner is the youngest son of former National Councillor Ulrich Giezendanner and brother of incumbent Grand Councillor Stefan Giezendanner.
Georg Kreis is a Swiss historian. He is a professor emeritus of modern general history and history of Switzerland at the University of Basel and was head of the University’s Europa Institute until July 2011. Aside from his academic duties, Kreis was the President of the Swiss Federal Commission against Racism, a Swiss government-supported commission of experts, from its founding in 1995 until 2011.
