The Syrian women's national rugby sevens team is Syria's representative in women's rugby sevens. Syria competed at the 2021 Arab Rugby Sevens women's tournament. [2] They placed fourth at the 2021 West Asia Rugby Women's Sevens. [3] [4]

Ensuring national security, increasing influence among its Arab neighbours and securing the return of the Golan Heights, have been the primary goals of the Syrian Arab Republic's foreign policy. At many points in its history, Syria has seen tension with its neighbours, such as Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon. Syria enjoyed an improvement in relations with several of the states in its region in the 21st century, prior to the Arab Spring and the Syrian Civil War.

Based on the number of overall medals won, Syria is a major force among basketball teams of WABA and ABC. The Australia women's national rugby sevens team, are the Australia national rugby sevens team of women. They were champions of the inaugural Women's Sevens World Cup in 2009. The team plays in the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series as one of the "core teams" on the world tour, of which they have been crowned Champions three times. The team also played in the preceding competition to the current world series, the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup. In 2016, they won the inaugural gold medal at the Rio Summer Olympics.

Woodman was a member of the New Zealand Women's Sevens team when they won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Sarah Abd Elbaki is a Syrian rugby player, coach and referee. Captain of the Syrian women's team, Abd Elbaki is "an influential figure in women's rugby in the Arab world".
The Syrian High Rugby Committee is the governing body for rugby union in Syria. It was founded in March 2012 and sent teams to the Arabian 7s Challenge Cup in 2017. Syrian High Rugby Committee was fully affiliated to Asia Rugby in 2015, and became an associate member of World Rugby in 2022. Its headquarters is in Al-Fayhaa Sports Complex, Damascus.
