Sønder Vedby Skovhuse is a village 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of Nykøbing on the Danish island of Falster. Today it serves as a satellite village for Nykøbing. As of 2024, it has a population of 293. [1]
With time, the south side of Sønder Vedby was acquired by Orupgård. Around 1900, an impressive two-storey building, partly half-timbered, was built for the estate's kvægforvalteren or cattle administrator. For many years it was used as a roebørnehave, a day nursery for children whose parents were picking sugarbeet in the surrounding fields. [2]

Taastrup is a Danish railway town and suburb of Copenhagen – 18 km west of Copenhagen's city centre. Sønder Aarslev Church is a church located in Årslev, a small village-suburb in the western parts of Aarhus, Denmark. Årslev is situated in the Brabrand district, west of Aarhus city center. Edward Tesdorpf, was a German-Danish landowner, agricultural pioneer and sugar manufacturer. He became the owner of ten estates; many were located in the Lolland-Falster area where he resided at Orupgaard near Nykøbing Falster, where he founded a sugar factory in 1884. Several of the estates are still owned by his descendants, including Gjedsergaard and Pandebjerg on Falster.

Christian Hincheldey was a Danish merchant and landowner on the island of Falster. He owned the estates Kringelborg and Orupgård. The building which would later become known as Nykøbing Latin School was constructed for him in 1786.
