The TEDxSantaCruz is an independent TEDx event founded in 2011 by David Warren, a retired Cabrillo College Professor. [3] This initiative is independently organized by a group of entrepreneurs, artists, philanthropists, and educators called the TEDxSanta Cruz Leadership Team. The curator and organizers of these past events have been led by Jon Luini, Nada Miljkovic, Kirsti Scott and Irene Tsouprake according to TED [4] Other team members have been Doug Abrams, Andrew Broadbent, Mary Anderson, Vania Benavides, Elizabeth Gummere, Gary Maricich, Cheri O'Neil, Sheila Schat, Mariah Tanner and Dag Weiser.

The TEDxSantaCruz YouTube channel had over 2.3 million views at last tally. Their last event had seven TEDxSantaCruz talks go on the TED Channel. The University of California, Santa Cruz is a public land-grant research university in Santa Cruz, California, United States. It is one of the ten campuses in the University of California system. Located on Monterey Bay, on the edge of the coastal community of Santa Cruz, the main campus lies on 2,001 acres (810 ha) of rolling, forested hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The UCSC Silicon Valley Initiatives are a series of educational and research activities which together increase the presence of the University of California in Silicon Valley. To that end, UC Santa Cruz has set up a 90,000 square-foot satellite campus called the University of Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Campus (SVC), currently located on Bowers street in Santa Clara, California, where it has been since April 2016 The Initiatives, still in the early stages of their development, have had ambitious hopes attached to them by UCSC, among them the possibility of a home for the University's long-planned graduate school of management and the Bio|Info|Nano R&D Institute. Lara Stein is a South Africa businesswoman based in the United States and the founder and CEO of Boma Global. She is also the executive director (ED) of Women’s March Global, managing the Women's March movement and Chapters outside of the United States. Stein also acted as the interim executive director of MIT ReACT, a new institute-wide organization at MIT dedicated to developing a global educational platform for displaced populations and refugees. Ms. Stein was also the managing director (MD) of Singularity University’s global expansion and implementation strategy. TEDxYouth@Doha is an independently organized TED conference which is localized to the youth in Qatar. The event is held annually in the month of November to commemorate United Nations Universal Children's Day. Youngsters across the nation aging from 15 - 18 are recruited as speakers in the event. TEDxYouth events are independently organized by schools and colleges across Doha and are run and hosted by the youth.

The Cesar Chavez Convocation was an annual event at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) during the month of May, commemorating Cesar Chavez and his legacy. Keynote speakers were invited to partake in the convocation to honor Cesar Chavez by relating social justice issues to the Hispanic and Latino community on campus. The convocation aimed to create a space where students could have dialogue about engaging with social justice issues and leadership. This annual event was organized largely by the Chicanx/Latinx Resource Center, also known as El Centro, and students of UC Santa Cruz. The event was open to the Santa Cruz community and was free of charge. The 16th annual convocation took place in 2019, with a focus on community organization. In 2020, the event was renamed to Nuestras Raíces: The Art of Community Empowerment.

David F. Levine is an American author, a professor of physical therapy, and a biomedical scientist. He holds the Walter M. Cline Chair of Excellence in Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His research and publication contributions focus on veterinary rehabilitation and physical therapy, including canine physical therapy, animal assisted therapy, gait analysis and motion analysis, the use of modalities such as extracorporeal shockwave therapy, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic ultrasound, as well as clinical infectious disease research and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome research.

TEDxAuckland is an independent TEDx event held annually in Auckland, New Zealand. Like other TEDx events, the event obtained a free license from TED to hold the conference, with organizers agreeing to follow certain principles. In May 2016, TEDxAuckland hosted 28 speakers at the Shed 10 venue on the waterfront in Auckland.

The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs are the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs compete in Division III of the NCAA, mostly in the Coast to Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). There are fifteen varsity sports – men's and women's basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, swimming and diving, cross country, track & field, and women's golf. UCSC teams have been Division III nationally ranked in tennis, soccer, men's volleyball, and swimming. UCSC maintains a number of successful club sides.

TEDxWellington is an independent TEDx event held annually in Wellington, New Zealand. Like other TEDx events, the event obtained a free license from TED to hold the conference, with organizers agreeing to follow certain principles. In 2017, TEDxWellington hosted 13 speakers and 1,000 delegates at the St. James Theatre on Courtenay Place, the main street of Wellington's entertainment district, opposite the Reading Cinema complex.

TEDxTauranga is an independent TEDx event held every 1–2 years in Tauranga, New Zealand. At TEDxTauranga, live speakers and entertainers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including TEDxTauranga, are self-organised by local volunteers. Other independently organised TEDx events in New Zealand include TEDxAuckland and TEDxWellington.

TEDx Tarfaya is a TED conference organized locally by the city of Tarfaya, Morocco. It's the first of its kind in the Sahara. The inaugural TEDx Tarfaya conference was held on May 4, 2013, at the Antoine de Saint-Exupery Museum.

TEDxLagos is an independent TEDx event held annually in Lagos, Nigeria. Like other TEDx events, the event obtained a free license from TED to hold the conference, with organizers agreeing to follow certain principles. In 2018, the refreshed TEDxLagos hosted 12 speakers at the Muson Centre.

The UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute is a public research institution based in the Jack Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The Genomics Institute's scientists and engineers work on a variety of projects related to genome sequencing, computational biology, large data analytics, and data sharing. The institute also maintains a number of software tools used by researchers worldwide, including the UCSC Genome Browser, Dockstore, and the Xena Browser.

TEDxVienna is an independent TEDx event founded in 2010 by Vlad Gozman, a Viennese entrepreneur. This initiative is independently organized by a group of entrepreneurs, artists, philanthropists, and educators, and incorporated as a non-profit NGO. The curators and organizers of the past events have been led by Gozman and his co-curator Alina Nikolaou according to TED philosophy.

TEDxViaDellaConciliazione is an independent TEDx event founded in 2013 by Father Héctor Guerra, a Mexican member of Legionaries of Christ. This initiative was independently organized by a group of entrepreneurs, artists, philanthropists, and educators, and incorporated as a non-profit NGO. The curators and organizers of the event have been led by Father Héctor Guerra and his co-curators Giovanna Abbiati, Luciano Giustini and Daniele Buzzurro according to TED philosophy.
