Protein-glutamine gamma-glutamyltransferase E is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the TGM3 gene. [5] [6] [7]
Transglutaminases are enzymes that catalyze the crosslinking of proteins by epsilon-gamma glutamyl lysine isopeptide bonds. While the primary structure of transglutaminases is not conserved, they all have the same amino acid sequence at their active sites and their activity is calcium-dependent. The protein encoded by this gene consists of two polypeptide chains activated from a single precursor protein by proteolysis. The encoded protein is involved the later stages of cell envelope formation in the epidermis and hair follicle. [7]
Collagen XVII, previously called BP180, is a transmembrane protein which plays a critical role in maintaining the linkage between the intracellular and the extracellular structural elements involved in epidermal adhesion, identified by Diaz and colleagues in 1990.
Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF) is a member of the EGF family of proteins that in humans is encoded by the HBEGF gene.
Protein-glutamine gamma-glutamyltransferase K is a transglutaminase enzyme that in humans is encoded by the TGM1 gene.
Fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FGFR4 gene. FGFR4 has also been designated as CD334.
NADPH oxidase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NOX1 gene.
Protein kinase C eta type is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRKCH gene.
Elafin, also known as peptidase inhibitor 3 or skin-derived antileukoprotease (SKALP), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PI3 gene.
Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PTPN2 gene.
Periplakin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PPL gene.
Loricrin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LOR gene.
Macrophage-stimulating protein (MSP), also known as hepatocyte growth factor-like protein, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MST1 gene.
Sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ATP2A3 gene.
Corneodesmosin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CDSN gene.
Cystatin-M is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CST6 gene.
Envoplakin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the EVPL gene.
Cornifin-B is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SPRR1B gene.
Vinexin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SORBS3 gene.
Guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(T) subunit gamma-T1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GNGT1 gene. Either GNGT1 or GNGT2 is the gamma subunit (Gγ) of the Gβγ part of transducin, a heterotrimeric G-protein naturally expressed in vertebrate retina rod and cone cells. GNGT1 only occurs in rod cells, and GNGT2 only occurs in cone cells, with a different alpha (Gα) subunit.
Small proline-rich protein 2A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SPRR2A gene.
POU domain, class 2, transcription factor 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the POU2F3 gene.
