Taichung Apollo is a Taiwanese volleyball team based in Taichung, Taiwan. They compete in the Top Volleyball League.

History

The team is composed of the Feng Yuan Commercial High School volleyball team alumni.

The team took part in their inaugural Top Volleyball League season in 2007 as Chunlee Consulting under the sponsorship of Chunlee Consulting. The team did not participate in 2008 season and resumed in 2009–10 season, with the name Yi Hua under the sponsorship of Yi Hua Construction and Easy Harvest in 2011, 2012 seasons under the sponsorship of East Harvest Sporting Equipment. [1] [2] In 2014, the team was sponsored by Brilliant Footwear Corporation and renamed Taichung Lien Chuang, named after the chairman Lien Hua-Jung's son, Lien Chuang. The Lien Chuang signed Serbian outside hitter Milan Perić and Pakistani opposite Aimal Khan, becoming the first two teams to sign import players in Top Volleyball League history. [3] Despite the Lien Chuang finished as runner-up in the season, the team had faced operational issues and the sponsorship was taken over by C-LiFe Technologies. The team was renamed Taichung Longpower for the following seasons. [4] In 2021, the team was renamed Taichung Apollo. [5]

The 2017 Taiwan Football Premier League (TFPL) was the first season of the Taiwan Football Premier League since it replaced the Intercity Football League following the 2016 season. It was contested by 8 clubs. Taichung City Dragon, who participated in the final Intercity Football League season, were replaced for the inaugural TFPL by Tainan City. Taipower FC finished at the top of the table, but were defeated 1-1 on away goals in a playoff by Tatung FC, the second ranked team, for the title. With that result, Tatung FC earned an automatic berth in the 2018 AFC Cup group stage, while Taipower FC qualified for the playoff round. However, neither side chose to enter the tournament, so 3rd place playoff winners Hang Yuen were granted the AFC Cup berth.

The 2021–22 Chinese Women's Volleyball Super League is the 25th season of the Chinese Women's Volleyball Super League, the highest professional volleyball league in China. The season began on 25 November 2021 and end the Finals on 6 January 2022. Tianjin Bohai Bank were the defending champion. The league is divided into three stages. The first stage, 14 teams separated into two groups, matches began on 25 November and ended on 4 December. The second stage, began on 15 December and ended on 28 December. The 2022–23 Taoyuan Leopards season was the franchise's 2nd season in the T1 League. The Leopards were coached by Liu Chia-Fa in his second year as their head coach, with Su Yi-Chieh as their general manager. On December 19, 2022, Su Yi-Chieh announced that he resigned from general manager. On December 21, the Leopards named Chang Chien-Wei, the chief executive officer of the Taoyuan Leopards, as their interim general manager. On March 24, 2023, the Leopards named Liu Chia-Fa as their player development and skills consultant, and John Bennett as their new head coach.

The 2022–23 Taichung Suns season was the franchise's 2nd season in the T1 League. The Suns were with Wang Wei-Chieh as their general manager. On July 1, 2022, the Taoyuan Pilots hired Iurgi Caminos, the head coach of the Taichung Wagor Suns, as their new head coach. On September 18, the Suns promoted Alberto Garcia, the assistant coach of the Taichung Wagor Suns, as their new head coach. On October 25, the Suns named Chris Gavina as their new head coach.

The 2022 T1 League draft was the second edition of the T1 League's annual draft. It was held on July 12, 2022, at Syntrend Creative Park in Taipei City. There were six teams joined the draft, including the Kaohsiung Aquas, New Taipei CTBC DEA, Taichung Wagor Suns, Tainan TSG GhostHawks, TaiwanBeer HeroBears, and the Taoyuan Leopards. There were 44 players participated in the draft, and 14 players were chosen in 3 rounds.

The 2022–23 Chinese Men's Volleyball Super League is the 27th season of the Chinese Men's Volleyball Super League, the highest professional volleyball league in China. The season began on 29 October 2022 and concluded on 5 January 2023.

Win Streak is a Taiwanese volleyball team based in Taichung, Taiwan. They compete in the Top Volleyball League.

The 2023 Taichung Futuro season was the club's 5th season and their 5th season in Taiwan Football Premier League. Taichung Futuro also participated in the AFC Cup as they were the 2022 Taiwan Football Premier League runner-up.
