Tairawhiti Polytechnic was a public New Zealand tertiary education institution. The main campus is based in Gisborne in the North Island. It provides full- and part-time education leading to certificates, diplomas, and applied bachelor's degrees. On 1 January 2011, Tairawhiti Polytechnic merged with Eastern Institute of Technology in Napier. [1]

Singapore Polytechnic is an institution of higher learning in Singapore. It is also the first polytechnic established in Singapore. It was founded on 27 October 1954 to provide studies, training and research in technology, science, commerce and the arts. The former campus was originally located at Prince Edward Road and was relocated to its present-day location at Dover next to Dover MRT station in 1978. Toihoukura is the school of Māori Visual Arts at Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) and is based in Gisborne, New Zealand. It is one of New Zealand’s predominant Māori Visual Arts schools. Toihoukura has developed a reputation for being an innovative national centre of Māori art practice, but is also known for its involvement in community projects such as wharenui conservation. Students from Toihoukura have worked on Cliff Whiting’s marae at Te Papa and panels used at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Toihoukura is known for the distinctive style of contemporary Māori art it has developed, as well as its whare wānanga approach to learning.

Riverdale is a suburb of Gisborne, in the Gisborne District of New Zealand's North Island. It has a population of about 2100 people.
