The 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup included teams with rosters of 12 players each; a team may opt to have one naturalized player from its roster. The rosters were finalized at the team managers' meeting, at the night prior to the first game.

Cricket in Iran is a fledgling sport growing in popularity, especially with youth and women. It is the most popular sport in Sistan and Baluchestan province. Iran has made significant progress in Under-16s and Women's cricket. The Under-16's promoted to and participated at the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in 2012 followed by a participation at the 2014 event.
