Talan Towers is a public and business complex located in the city of Astana, Kazakhstan. The complex consists of a podium and two towers with office, retail, hotel and residential premises. The 30-story Talan Towers Offices tower has a business center, and the 25-story The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Apartments. The towers are connected by a shopping gallery. The total area of the structure is around 106,194 m2. It was built by order of the Kazakhstan group of companies 'Verny Capital' and opened in 2017.

History

Preparations for the construction of the Talan Towers began in 2012. [1] On 18 June 2013, the first stone was laid. [2] [3] The construction took place in two stages: the first was completed in the fall of 2016, and the second in the spring of 2017. On 3 June 2017, the tower of The Ritz-Carlton, Astana was opened. [4] [5] And in September 2017, the opening of the tower of the Talan Towers Offices business center. [6] [7]

On 15 March 2018, Talan Towers received the international LEED certificate in the GOLD category. [8] [9] In September 2019 was presented the Talan Towers Executive Hub office space. [10] Later this month, the 3-stages Talan Gallery opened. It is part of the Talan Towers architectural complex. [11]

On 13 November 2019, Tesla Supercharger charging stations were installed at Talan Towers. These are the first Tesla chargers in the CIS officially presented by the company. [12]

Architecture and design

The coordination of all participants in the construction was carried out by the American company Turner Construction. Talan Towers architectural concept developed by SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill). Renaissance, Metal Yapi, Kone, KUKBO DESIGN, Energoprojekt and Elite Construction were involved in the construction of the buildings. Several companies participated in the development of the design of the complex's facilities: Pringle Brandon Perkins + Will, Callison and Richmond International. In the decoration of Talan Towers 56 types of natural stones were used, imported from quarries of Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, China, Turkey and India. Including Jurassic Limestone stones, Sahara Noir marble, Perlato Bianco, Bianco Carrara, Crema Marfi and Calacatta.

The Talan Towers complex consists of two towers and a shopping gallery uniting them. Total area - 106,194 m2.

Talan Towers Offices

The first Talan Towers Offices tower has a height of 145 m. and 30 floors. The total area of the business center is 31,908.3 m2. Talan Towers Offices introduced green roofing technologies that retain heat, water saving and drip irrigation systems, reuse of rainwater to irrigate green spaces, and installed solar panels. Also, during construction, energy-saving glass was used to optimize the temperature and lighting inside the building.

The Ritz-Carlton, Astana

The second tower is owned by The Ritz-Carlton, Astana hotel. It owns 17 floors in a 25-story tower and consists of 157 rooms, Mokki and Selfie Astana restaurants, Mokki Cafe, Өzen lobby lounge, The Ritz-Carlton SPA, Astana and conference rooms area of over 1400 m2. The seven upper floors of The Ritz-Carlton, Astana tower are reserved for 27 residences of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Astana.

Parking lot

The parking lot in the Talan Towers consists of two levels and is designed for 550 places.

The 2016 Protests against land reforms in Kazakhstan were a series of protests that were held in Kazakhstan against the new amendments to the Land Code, which began on 24 April 2016 in the city of Atyrau. Three days later, the rallies were held in the cities of Aktobe and Semey. During the first three rallies, the authorities did not try to harshly suppress the protests, but tried to calm the protesters and offer other forms of dialogue. Only on May 21, the authorities thoroughly prepared to suppress any protests in all administrative centers of the republic. This was the first mass protest in Kazakhstan since the Zhanaozen massacre in 2011.

Otan Korgaushilar Monument is a city memorial in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. It is in Defenders of the Fatherland Square near Tauelsizdik Avenue. It primarily commemorates the Kazakhs who were sent to serve in the Soviet Army during the Great Patriotic War as well as veterans of the Kazakh Armed Forces. In the Kazakh language, "Otan Korgaushilar" is the term used for "Defenders of the Fatherland". Dignitaries such as Alexander Lukashenko, Moon Jae-in, Angela Merkel, Sadyr Japarov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have in years past visited and laid wreaths at the memorial. Victory Day Parades commonly takes place at the memorial on 9 May.

The Sunkar is one of two aerobatic teams in the Kazakh Air Defense Forces which performs aerobatics during events in Kazakhstan from combat training Aero L-39 Albatros. In the Kazakh language, the name of the group is translated as "Falcon".

Since its creation, the Adal has participated in every parliamentary election, often taking last place in terms of vote share and has not never nominated a presidential candidate for the elections. On 26 April 2022, Adal merged with the Amanat party.

Kyzyl-Tan is a building of the former Verny Trading House, located at 63 Jibek Joly Street in Almaty. It is an architectural monument of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Sources are divided on its architect and its time of construction. According to some, it was built in 1912 by the architect Andrey Zenkov. Others suggest it was built in 1896 by the architect Paul Gourdet to house Iskhak Gabdulvaliev's store. Meiram Zekeshuly Qajyken is a Kazakh economist and academician who is the leader of Yntymaq party from 2022 and the head of Modern Society Studies Institute since 2015. Prior to that, he worked in the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, as well as various state-owned enterprises and government departments related to economy and industry in Kazakhstan. Qajyken is Doctor of Economics and an author of several books written on the development of the socio-economic system, adaptive economy and the concept of a unified wage system in Kazakhstan. He is chairman of several state-owned enterprises and is a professor at the Astana International University.

Qairat Sovetaiuly Boranbaev (Kazakh: Қайрат Советайұлы Боранбаев; born 22 September 1966) is a Kazakh businessmаn, President of Kazakhstan's National Paralympic Committee, and chairman of the supervisory board of FC Kairat.
