Idols is a television show on the Dutch television network RTL 4, which is part of the Idols series based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in the Netherlands.

It premiered on June 21, 2006 after plans for a British edition in 2005 were suspended, following a dispute within the British broadcaster ITV. Production would later resume in 2007, following the success of the first season. It was broadcast between February 24, 2014 and May 18, 2014. It was the first season aired on TV3. June 19, 2013, following a two-year hiatus, TV3 announced that they had acquired the rights for the show and would broadcast the show in 2014. The show took place in larger arenas than previous seasons, allowing things like motor vehicles and bigger animals on the stage. Ulf Hans Peter "Geta" Lööf, (better known as Gula gubben is a Swedish comedian and singer. Lööf was born in Skövde but lives and works in Varberg, Sweden. Lööf has competed in the show Talang 2010 on TV4. Lööf has also appeared at festivals and in the SVT show Sommarlovsmorgon during the summer of 2012. Lööf has done DJ work and has owned his own vinyl disc shop in Varberg. Lööf is also a participant in poetry slams.
