Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is a Bangladeshi film director, producer and screenwriter who works in Bengali films. His films Third Person Singular Number, Television, No Bed Of Roses were critically acclaimed across the world and received numerous international and national awards. On November 10, 2024, he was appointed as the Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in the interim government of Bangladesh.
Mohammad Rasoulof is an Iranian independent filmmaker who lives in exile in Europe. He is known for several award-winning films, including The Twilight (2002), Iron Island (2005), Goodbye (2011),Manuscripts Don't Burn (2013), A Man of Integrity (2017) and There Is No Evil (2020). For the latter, he won the Golden Bear at the 2020 Berlin Film Festival.

It was part of the Ministry of Love 12-film anthology film series for Bangladeshi streaming platform Chorki. The title of the film, borrowed from Akira Kurosawa's book of same name, resonates with events that question the boundary between reality and fiction from the plot that is presumed by Variety to be inspired from Farooki and his wife Nusrat Imrose Tisha's personal lives. The film was produced by Redoan Rony and co-produced by Anna Katchko, former Film Bazaar chief Nina Lath, Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Farooki. It was co-written by Farooki and Tisha. It marked Farooki's on-screen debut.

Amanda Nell Eu's feature directorial debut Tiger Stripes opened the festival. Drama film Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell won the festival's main award Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Film.
