Talobilla Park is a sporting facility located in the suburb of Kippa-Ring, Queensland in Australia. Sports include baseball, canoeing, dragon boating, football (soccer), rugby league and softball. Talobilla Park also contains an Automated Weather Observing System for the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. It is built on an old landfill reserve.

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two opposing teams who take turns batting and fielding. The game proceeds when a player on the fielding team, called the pitcher, throws a ball which a player on the batting team tries to hit with a bat. The objectives of the offensive team are to hit the ball into the field of play, and to run the bases—having its runners advance counter-clockwise around four bases to score what are called "runs". The objective of the defensive team is to prevent batters from becoming runners, and to prevent runners' advance around the bases. A run is scored when a runner legally advances around the bases in order and touches home plate. The team that scores the most runs by the end of the game is the winner.

Baseball

Talobilla has two regulation-size baseball diamonds built in 2004 including one regulation Little League field. The main diamond is a fully fenced and regulation-sized baseball field with field-level dugouts, two bullpens, two battery cages, a scorers box, canteen, bar and shaded seating for approx 100. Major A standard floodlighting and a second amenities block with an umpires change room and showers has also been proposed by the Moreton Bay Regional Council and will be completed before the 2010 season.[ needs update ]

Dugout (baseball)

In baseball, the dugout is a team's bench and is located in foul territory between home plate and either first or third base. There are two dugouts, one for the home team and one for the visiting team. In general, the dugout is occupied by all players not prescribed to be on the field at that particular time, as well as coaches and other personnel authorized by the league. The players' equipment are usually stored in the dugout.

Bullpen

In baseball, the bullpen is the area where relief pitchers warm-up before entering a game. A team's roster of relief pitchers is also metonymically referred to as "the bullpen". These pitchers usually wait in the bullpen if they have not yet played in a game, rather than in the dugout with the rest of the team. The starting pitcher also makes his final pregame warm-up throws in the bullpen. Managers can call coaches in the bullpen on an in-house telephone from the dugout to tell a certain pitcher to begin his warm-up tosses.

Diamond two is also a regulation-sized baseball diamond with training standard floodlighting. It is home to the Redcliffe Padres, the largest baseball club in Queensland and second largest in Australia. It has hosted a variety of events including Queensland schoolboys and club junior state titles.

The Redcliffe Leagues Padres Baseball Club, also known as Peninsula Padres Baseball Club is a baseball club located in Redcliffe, Queensland that participates in the Greater Brisbane League competition and Brisbane North Region competition. As of the November 2011, it was the largest club in Queensland and second largest in Australia behind the Waverley Baseball Club in Victoria.
