Tamás Kazi (born 16 May 1985) is a Hungarian track and field athlete specialised in middle distance running events. [1] Kazi mainly competes in the 800 metres, in which he participated in the 2009 and 2011 World Championships in Athletics, reaching the semifinal on both occasions. [2] He also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London failing to qualify for the semifinals. He was born in Baja, Hungary. [3]

He competed in all major international tournaments between 1970 and 1980 and won three medals at the Summer Olympics and five at the world and European championships. In 1993 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, and in 2005 he was voted the Hungarian coach of the year.
