Perfect Blue is a 1997 Japanese anime psychological thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon. It is loosely based on the novel Perfect Blue:Complete Metamorphosis by Yoshikazu Takeuchi,with a screenplay by Sadayuki Murai. Featuring the voices of Junko Iwao,Rica Matsumoto,Shiho Niiyama,Masaaki Okura,Shinpachi Tsuji and Emiko Furukawa,the plot follows a member of a Japanese idol group who retires from music to pursue an acting career. As she becomes a victim of stalking by her obsessive fan,gruesome murders take place,and she begins losing her grip on reality. The film deals with the blurring of the line between fantasy and reality,a commonly found theme in Kon's other works,such as Millennium Actress (2001) and Paprika (2006).

The series follows the titular unicorn as he uses his magic to help friends from around the world across different time periods. The series was drawn in a western style,being published in full color and read from left to right. It has since been published in different collections and has been adapted into film and comics. A modern-day reboot of the series began publication by Scholastic under its Graphix imprint in 2024.

She and Her Cat,subtitled Their standing points,is a 1999 Japanese original video animation created and directed by Makoto Shinkai. His first own directed work,it is a five-minute story about the relationship between a male cat and his female owner told from the cat's perspective. Shinkai made the film to help a romantic interest overcome a difficult situation,and his time living in a small apartment defined the scenario. The team of four animators used Shinkai's hand-drawn illustrations and Adobe After Effects for 3D visual effects.
Penelope Pussycat is an animated cartoon character,featured in the Warner Bros. classic Looney Tunes animated shorts along with PepéLe Pew. Although she is typically a non-speaker,her "meows" and "purrs" were most often provided by Mel Blanc using a feminine voice. The character did not originally have a permanent name;she was alternately referred to as "Penelope","Fifi","Pussycat Purr",and "Fabrette",and animator Chuck Jones' 1960 model sheet simply calls her "Le Cat". The name Penelope Pussycat was created retroactively for Warner Bros. marketing.
