Trinidad is the larger and more populous of the two major islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The island lies 11 km (6.8 mi) off the northeastern coast of Venezuela and sits on the continental shelf of South America. It is often referred to as the southernmost island in the West Indies. With an area of 4,768 km2 (1,841 sq mi), it is also the fifth largest in the West Indies.

It is located in northeastern Trinidad, east of Saint George County, south of Saint David County and north of Nariva County. To the east it is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean. The major town in the county is Sangre Grande. Saint Andrew is divided into five Wards - Valencia, Matura, Manzanilla, Tamana and Turure.
The Central Range is a mountain range on the island of Trinidad. It extends diagonally across the island and is a low-lying range rising from swampy areas into rolling hills. The tallest hills in the range are Mount Tamana, Mount Harris and Brigand Hill; all located in the northeastern portion of the range. The Central Range mountains are biodiverse, and are home to the Tamana Caves - the site of Trinidad's largest bat roost. Howler monkeys can be found here and numerous species of birds as well.

Wallerfield is a residential and industrial area east of Arima in Trinidad and Tobago. It served as Waller Air Force Base, and since the closure of U.S. Army base in May 1949 it became the informal home of various types of racing for over 40 years. It is the site of a new multimillion-dollar University of Trinidad and Tobago campus complex, as well as several housing developments and other projects. Further projects have been planned to transform it into Trinidad and Tobago's first science and technology research park, which will be known as the Tamana InTech Park.
The University of Trinidad and Tobago, also known as UTT, is a state owned university in Trinidad and Tobago established in 2004. Its main campus, currently under construction, will be located at Wallerfield in Trinidad. Presently, its campuses are an amalgamation of several former technological colleges throughout the country.
Tamana caves is a cave system located on the northern slope of Mount Tamana in eastern Trinidad. Mount Tamana is a 307-metre flat topped hill of Miocene Guaracara Limestone of the Tamana Formation in the eastern Central Range.
Bishop Anstey High School (BAHS), also known as Bishop Anstey or St. Hilary's, is a government-assisted all-girls secondary school in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It was founded by the Anglican Bishop Arthur Henry Anstey and opened on January 13, 1921. The school is governed by a Board of Management appointed and chaired by the Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago. Its assets are controlled and managed by The Bishop Anstey Association.
Waller Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force World War II air base located in northeastern Trinidad. It is located about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Valencia south of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway and roughly 32 km from the capital city Port of Spain.
Northeastern College is a government co-educational secondary school. The school is located in the town of Sangre Grande, on the northeastern side of the island of Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago.
Diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago were established on 20 June 1974. The Chinese government established an embassy in Port of Spain in April 1975, with Trinidad and Tobago establishing their own embassy in Beijing on 26 February 2014. Prime Minister Eric Williams was the first Trinidadian head of government to visit China in 1974. In 2002, the trade balance between the two countries was US$47.15 million, with China exporting all but $4.81 million of that. The current Chinese ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago is Mr. Yang Youming.
The 2018 Trinidad and Tobago Charity Shield was the sixth edition of the Charity Shield, which is a football match that opened the 2018 Pro League season. Capital punishment is a legal penalty in Trinidad and Tobago. The method of execution is hanging. Its last execution was of Anthony Briggs for murder on 28 July 1999. However, the country is still considered "retentionist' due to a lack of "an established practice or policy against carrying out executions." Trinidad and Tobago is the only country in the Americas that retains the mandatory death penalty for murder.
