Tamil Maanila Kamraj Congress is a political party in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The party was formed in December 2002 through a split in the Tamil Maanila Congress. [1] The party is led by Kumaradas (president), R. Eswaran (vice-president), Hakkim (general secretary), and Teni Jayakumar (treasurer).[ citation needed ] Five members of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly have joined the party.[ citation needed ]
G. K. Vasan is an Indian Politician and son of G. K Moopanar, a veteran Indian National Congress Leader. G K Vasan is currently the president of Tamil Maanila Congress (M), a political party in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. He was a member of Rajya Sabha, an upper house of Indian Parliament from the year 2002 until 2014. During his tenure as a Member of Indian Parliament, he had functioned in several positions in the Union Government under UPA 1 & UPA II regime including as a Minister of State for Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation from Jan 2006 – May 2009; Union Minister of Shipping from May 2009 – May 2014 and as an In-charge Minister for Labour from January 2014 - April 2014.
Congress Jananayaka Peravai was a political party in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It was founded in 2001 by former union finance minister P. The Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) (transl. Tamil State Congress (Moopanar); abbr.TMC(M)) is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It was founded by the former member of parliament of the Republic of India G. K. Moopanar on 29 March 1996 as a breakaway faction from the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee.

D. Kumaradas is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on four occasions from Killiyur constituency: in 1984 as a Janata Party candidate, 1991 as a Janata Dal candidate, and in 1996 and 2001 as a Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) (TMC) candidate. He floated a new party, called the Tamil Maanila Kamarajar Congress, in December 2002.
The 1996 Indian general election polls in Tamil Nadu were held for 39 seats in the state. The result was a landslide for the newly formed alliance between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) and its leader G. K. Moopanar, and the left parties who ended up getting all 39 seats. Post election, the newly formed United Front, ended up getting all the seats from Tamil Nadu, since DMK and TMC joined it, with outside support from Indian National Congress (INC). The results in Tamil Nadu is a reflection of the results nationally, where INC, ended up losing the most seats. This election was seen as redemption for Moopanar and TMC, since they left Congress, on grounds that they formed an alliance with AIADMK, even though J. Jayalalithaa, general secretary of AIADMK, was accused of many corruption charges. This led to a disastrous showing, for AIADMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu, since they lost all 39 seats from the last election, and TMC reaping the benefits by getting the most seats, in this election with 20 seats.
A. S. Ponnammal was an Indian Politician and a seven time MLA to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly spanning from 1957 to 2001. She was part of Congress Party, Tamil Maanila Congress and Congress Jananayaka Peravai. She was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly for five terms representing Nilakottai Assembly constituency and one term from each from the Palani Assembly constituency and Sholavandan Assembly constituency respectively. She was commonly referred to as Akka. She died at Madurai at an age of 88 in 2015.
