The first female U.S. senator,Rebecca Latimer Felton,represented Georgia for a single day in 1922,and the first woman elected to the Senate,Hattie Caraway,was elected from Arkansas in 1932. Since its establishment in 1789,60 women have served in the upper house of the United States Congress. As of October 3,2023,there are 25 women serving as U.S. senators out of 100 possible seats. Additionally,Kamala Harris as vice president serves as President of the Senate.

Anna Kaplan is an Iranian-American politician from Great Neck,New York. A Democrat,she was a member of the New York State Senate,representing New York's 7th State Senate district,which runs from the North Shore to roughly the central part of Western Nassau County on Long Island. Faith Winter is a Democratic Party legislator in the U.S. State of Colorado. She represents District 25 in the Colorado State Senate. Class 2 senators were last elected in 2020,and will be up for election in this cycle.
The 2022 Indiana Senate election took place on Tuesday,November 8,2022,with elections in the U.S. state of Indiana,coinciding with other elections in the state,U.S. House,and Indiana House,as well as various other state and local elections. Voters elected members to 25 of the 50 seats in the Indiana Senate to serve four-year terms in single-member constituencies. The primary election took place on Tuesday,May 3,2022. The Republican Party had held a majority since 2011.
The 2022 Colorado Senate elections took place on November 8,2022,along with elections in the State House of Representatives,with the primary elections held on June 28,2022. Voters in 17 out of the 35 districts of the Colorado Senate elected their representative for a four-year term. It coincided with other Colorado elections of the same year and the biennial United States elections.
The 2024 United States House of Representatives elections were held on November 5,2024,as part of the 2024 United States elections,to elect representatives from all 435 congressional districts across each of the 50 U.S. states,as well as 6 non-voting delegates from the District of Columbia and the inhabited U.S. territories to the United States House of Representatives. Special elections have also been held on various dates in 2024. Numerous other federal,state,and local elections,including the U.S. presidential election and elections to the Senate,were also held on this date. The winners of this election will serve in the 119th United States Congress,with seats apportioned among the states based on the 2020 United States census.
