Tammy Whittington (born October 12, 1965) is a former professional tennis player from the United States.
Whittington played college tennis in 1980s for the University of Florida, where she came to from Plantation High School in Broward County. [1] She was a singles All-American for the Gators in both 1985 and 1987. After graduating in 1987 she turned professional. [2]
On the professional circuit, Whittington reached a best ranking of 105 for singles. Her best performance on the WTA Tour was a quarter-final appearance at the 1991 Virginia Slims of Nashville, beating world number 50 Florencia Labat en route. She made the second round of the 1992 Wimbledon Championships. As a doubles player she won nine ITF titles and featured in the main draw of all four grand slam tournaments.
Hana Mandlíková is a former professional tennis player from Czechoslovakia who later obtained Australian citizenship. During her career, she won four Grand Slam singles titles: the 1980 Australian Open, 1981 French Open, 1985 US Open, and the 1987 Australian Open. She was also the runner-up at four Grand Slam singles events, including the Wimbledon finals of 1981 and 1986, and won one Grand Slam women's doubles title, at the 1989 US Open with Martina Navratilova. Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1994, she is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time.
Audra Marie Cohen is an American former professional tennis player and current college tennis coach. She was the # 1 collegiate female tennis player in the United States in 2007. At the University of Miami in 2005-2006 she was named the ITA National Player of the Year and was the National Indoor Champion, and in 2006-07 she won the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship, the NCAA Singles Championship, and the ITA National Player of the Year award. She is currently the head women's tennis coach at the University of Oklahoma.
