Tapio Yli-Karro

Hannu Tapio Yli-Karro (born 11 October 1953, Rauma [1] ) is a Finnish former football referee. He was a FIFA listed international assistant referee from 1990 to 1998. [2]

Yli-Karro officiated 23 international matches, 16 matches at the UEFA club competitions and several youth internationals. He was appointed as an assistant referee to the 1994 FIFA World Cup, 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship and 1994 Gulf Cup of Nations. [2] Yli-Karro and Arne Eriksson are the only Finnish referees at World Cup finals so far.

He lives in Western Finnish town Rauma and is working as a headmaster on a high school at Säkylä municipality. [3]

Héctor Baldassi Argentine football referee

Héctor Walter Baldassi is an Argentine retired football referee and politician. His first Argentine first division was in 1998 and only two years later he debuted internationally. Nicknamed La Coneja, Baldassi officiated several CONMEBOL club competitions including the final match of the 2008 Copa Libertadores, and participated in several international competitions including the 2004 Copa América and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He was called for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, but was later dismissed because one of his assistants didn't pass the medical tests.

Mark Geiger Soccer referee and math teacher

Mark William Geiger is an American sports administrator and former soccer referee. He is the senior director of match officials at the Professional Referee Organization (PRO), which oversees domestic referees in Major League Soccer (MLS). Geiger previously officiated in MLS and was on the FIFA International Referees List from 2008 to 2019. At the international level, Geiger refereed the 2012 Olympics; at the 2013 and 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cups; and at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups. At the 2014 World Cup, he became the first referee from the United States to officiate a knockout match at a World Cup tournament. Before becoming a full-time referee, Geiger was a high school mathematics teacher.

Bakary Gassama Gambian football referee

Bakary Papa Gassama is a Gambian football referee. Gassama became a FIFA referee in 2007. He officiated at the 2012 Olympic tournament, in which he was the fourth official for the gold medal match between Mexico and Brazil. He also served as a referee at the 2012 and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, as well as the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Arne Eriksson was a Finnish former football referee. He was born in Jakobstad. He was a FIFA international referee from 1955 to 1958.
