Tarmo Virkus (born 28 January 1971) is an Estonian rower. He competed in the men's coxless four event at the 1992 Summer Olympics. [1]

Matti Antero Karumaa was a Finnish ice hockey player who played in the SM-liiga. He played for Hämeenlinnan Tarmo between 1942 and 1952. He formed powerful line called "Ka-Ku-Ti" with Keijo Kuusela and Esko Tie. Karumaa won two Finnish championships in Tarmo. Internationally he played for the Finnish national team at the 1952 Winter Olympics.
Keijo Helmer Kuusela was a professional ice hockey player who played in the SM-liiga. He played for Hämeenlinnan Tarmo. He was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985. He also competed in the men's field hockey tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Tarmo is a Finnish steam-powered icebreaker preserved in the Maritime Museum of Finland in Kotka. Built in 1907 by Sir W.G. Armstrong, Whitworth & Co Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, she was the third state-owned icebreaker of Finland and the last Finnish steam-powered icebreaker to remain in service. When Tarmo was decommissioned in 1970, a decision was made to preserve the vessel as a museum ship. After a long wait in Helsinki, Tarmo was towed to Kotka and completely restored in the early 1990s.

Tarmo "Tare" Tapani Uusivirta was a Finnish professional boxer who competed from 1982 to 1992, and challenged once for the European super-middleweight title in 1991. As an amateur he won a gold medal at the 1979 European Championships, and consecutive silver medals at the 1978 and 1982 World Championships; all in the middleweight division.
The Compendium of American Genealogy, First Families of America (1925–1942), by Frederick Adams Virkus, is a seven volume collection of American lineage records intended as a standard genealogical history of the United States. The records span eight or nine generations from the early 17th century to the mid-20th. Originally a project of Marquis's Who's Who in America, it was later taken over by Virkus's own Institute of American Genealogy. Virkus guided the publication of the Compendium for more than two decades with the intention of producing a genealogical encyclopedia of the “first families of America”. It is a major source of information on immigrants to America before 1750. Tarmo Antero "Lukkeri" Halonen was an amateur lightweight boxer from Finland, who won a bronze medal at the 1963 European Championships. He competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics, but lost in the second round to the eventual winner Józef Grudzień. Halonen won the national lightweight title in three consecutive years, from 1962 to 1964. He was a grinder by profession, and after retiring from boxing worked as a coach.
Hannu Sakari Vuorinen was a Finnish professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 1990. As an amateur, he competed in the men's light welterweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal at the 1984 Nordic Championships.
