The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language,literature and culture,works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955,it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh,Dhaka,within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

In 1971,the Pakistan Army and their local collaborators,most notably the extreme right wing militia group Al-Badr,engaged in the systematic execution of Bengali intellectuals during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. Bengali intellectuals were abducted,tortured and killed during the entire duration of the war as part of the 1971 Bangladesh genocide. However,the largest number of systematic executions took place on 25 March and 14 December 1971,two dates that bookend the conflict. 14 December is commemorated in Bangladesh as Martyred Intellectuals Day.
The National Security Intelligence,commonly known as the NSI,is the principal civilian intelligence agency of Bangladesh. The NSI's headquarters is in Segunbagicha,Dhaka. The NSI is the leading body of the Government of Bangladesh in the field of internal security,counter terrorism,counter intelligence and foreign intelligence. NSI is the largest among the intelligence agencies in Bangladesh,the others being the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI),SB,CID,PBI and intelligence directorates of armed and paramilitary forces. The agency stands under the direct authority of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
ʿAzīz al-Ḥaqq ibn Irshād ʿAlīad-Dākawī,simply known as Azizul Haque or by his epithet Shaykh al-Hadith was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar,politician,writer,and translator. He is the founder of Khelafat Majlish and first Bangali translator of Sahih al-Bukhari. He was vice chancellor of Jamia Rahmania Arabia Dhaka.
Sir Muhammad Azizul Haque,KCSI,CIE,also known as Muhammad Azizul Huq or Mohammad Azizul Huque,was a Bengali lawyer,writer and public servant. He studied at Presidency College and University Law College in Calcutta. He worked to better the condition of Muslim people,primarily in the rural farmlands. This led him to work with Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Haque,Sir Abdulla Suhrawardy,Sir Salimullah and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He remained friends with many throughout his life.
Eamin Haque Bobby,better known as Bobby Haque,is a popular Bangladeshi film actress,model and film producer. She made her acting debut in Khoj:The Search,released on 16 April 2010. Dehorokkhi (2013) helped establish her as a star in the Dhallywood film industry.
Amjad Hossain was a Bangladeshi film director,actor,scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice,for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992.

Mamunul Haque is a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar and the Joint Secretary-General of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh,emerged as an Islamist leader in the late 2010s,particularly following the deadliest events of the Siege of Dhaka. With an ancestral heritage of religious scholarship and political leadership from his father,Azizul Haque,he succeeded his father both as a Sheikh al-Hadith at Jamia Rahmania and as the Secretary-General of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis. He is best known for his oratory skills and his advocacy for the establishment of an Islamic state and the integration of Islamic principles into government policies. In 2020 and 2021,he led opposition to the construction of a sculpture of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and organized anti-Modi protests,which made him the undisputed Hefazat leader overnight. He faced legal challenges,including 41 cases,one of which was a treason charge,and has been imprisoned three times under the Sheikh Hasina regime. Following the fall of this regime,he participated in discussions with the President and the Chief of Army Staff,which eventually led to the formation of the Yunus ministry,which included a member from Hefazat,A F M Khalid Hossain. In addition to his political and religious activities,he has served as an adjunct professor at Asian University of Bangladesh and is the editor of Rahmani Paigam,a monthly magazine published in Dhaka.
Islami Bishwakosh is an encyclopedia published by the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh. It is of 25 volumes and also a concise version. The project's leading founder was Abdul Haque Faridi,a Bangladeshi educator and scholar.

Shah Mohammad Muhibbullah Babunagari is a Bangladeshi Deobandi Islamic scholar,politician and academic. He is the current and 3rd amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh,rector of Al-Jamiatul Islamiah Azizul Uloom Babunagar. He also held leading positions in Islami Oikya Jote,Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh and Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh. He is considered one of the pioneers of Deoband movement in Bangladesh.
Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni is a Bengali web series based on the thriller novel of the same name written by Bangladeshi writer Mohammad Nazim Uddin. The series has been released on West Bengal-based Bengali language OTT platform Hoichoi. It is directed by Indian director Srijit Mukherji. This is the second complete web series directed by Srijit Mukherji and his first work in Hoichoi. Initially,shooting was planned in both countries with the participation of several actors from Bangladesh and India,but due to the COVID-19 pandemic,shooting was done only in India. However,Azmeri Haque Badhon is the only Bangladeshi playing the central character "Mushkan Zuberi".
