Taylor Barry (born 28 February 1995, Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand boxing trainer based in Las Vegas. Barry is the son of Olympic silver medalist and New Zealand boxing legend; trainer and manager Kevin Barry. Taylor has moved into the realm of coaching professional fighters including WBO world champion Joseph Parker. [1] [2] Barry helped Joseph Parker in his World Title fight in December 2016. [3]
Barry was born in New Zealand but was educated in America. He played American Football for his high school and for the Nevada Spartans. [4] He was comfortable playing either side of the ball, defensive end or tight end. [5] Barry's twin brother Mitchell, also played football. [6] Barry is very close to Joseph Parker as they consider each other as brothers. [7] [8] Barry is the son of Rhythmic Gymnastics Olympian Tanya Moss. [9]
Faumuina To'aletai Mafaufau David Tua, best known as David Tua, is a Samoan-born New Zealand former professional boxer who competed from 1992 to 2013. A highly ranked heavyweight contender for most of his career, Tua was known for his formidable punching power, especially in his devastating left hook. He scored sixteen wins by knockout in the first round, which included knockouts of world heavyweight champions John Ruiz and Michael Moorer within thirty seconds of the first round, as well as late stoppages of world champions Oleg Maskaev and Hasim Rahman. He was ranked by BoxRec in the world's top 10 heavyweights from 1996 to 2003, reaching his highest ranking of No.3 in 1998. Tua ended his career with a knockout-to-win ratio of 82.6%. In a 2003 article by The Ring magazine, Tua was ranked 48th on a list of 100 greatest punchers of all time.
Kevin Michael Joseph Barry is a New Zealand former boxer, boxing trainer, manager and occasional commentator. He is the son of noted boxing trainer Kevin Barry Sr.
Tania (Tanya) Roxanne Moss is a New Zealand former gymnast who competed in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. She performed in rhythmic gymnastics. She is a multi-time New Zealand and Australasian Champion. In 1983 she was ranked #2 in the Commonwealth. She also won the New Zealand Gymnast of the year 6 times. On her retirement from competitive gymnastics she went on to coach one of the top clubs in the country and had many national champions and national representatives from her club, Xtreme Rhythmix. Tanya travelled extensively for New Zealand either as a coach or judge for various national teams.

The event took place on 10 December 2016, at the Vector Arena in Auckland. Parker won the contest by majority decision, with two judges scoring it 115–113 and the other 114–114.

Asasio Lolofakangalo Heimuli, commonly known as Lolo Heimuli, is a professional coach in kickboxing, boxing and mixed martial arts active in New Zealand. In the past he has coached many notable people including Mark Hunt (MMA), Shane Cameron (Boxing), Ray Sefo and many more. Heimuli fought in Mauy Thai and Amateur Boxing before becoming a coach, however, retired as a competitor in 1990 after a KO win over Narungsak of Thailand. Heimuli trained under Manukau Boxing gym with Jerry Preston and Ponsonby Lee Institute under Alf Pivac before becoming a coach. As a kickboxing coach, his boxers have won over 80 regional and world kickboxing titles. Heimuli used to be the head coach of City Boxing gym. Heimuli owns his own gym called Balmoral Lee Gar, based in Sandringham Auckland.

The bout took place on 27 February 2021, at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The event is co-promoted by David Higgins of Duco Events, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing and Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment, and is considered a history making moment and New Zealand's next "Fight of the Century".
