Syedna Tayyeb Zainuddin Bin Syedi Jivanjee (born: 1782 AD; died on 15 Zilqad al-Haraam 1252 AH/1836 AD, Surat, India) was the 45th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect. He succeeded his brother, the 44th Da'i, Syedna Mohammed Ezzuddin Bin Syedi Jivanjee, to the religious post at the age of 38 years.
His father's name was Syedi Jivanjee bin Shaikh Dawood bhai while his mother's name was Buji BaiSaheba binte Mulla Ahmed-ji. He was the elder brother of the previous Da'i (Mohammed Ezzuddin). Buji BaiSaheba's father was the grandson of Syedi Abdul Qadir Hakimuddin while her mother Aamena BaiSaheba was the great-grand-daughter of Syedi Hasanji Badshah, a descendant of Syedi Fakhruddin Shaheed.
Tayyeb Zainuddin became Da'i al-Mutlaq in 1236 AH/1821 AD. [1] His period of Dawat was 1821–1836 AD/1236-1252 AH. [2] [3]
He died aged 54. The present Da'i descends from him.
The term Da'i al-Mutlaq literally meaning 'the absolute, or unrestricted, missionary', is the most senior spiritual rank and office in Tayyibi Isma'ilism. The Da'i al-Mutlaq has headed the Tayyibi community since the seclusion of the 21st Tayyibi Imam, at-Tayyib Abu'l-Qasim, traditionally placed in 528 AH/1134 AD.
Syedna Qutub Khan Qutbuddin as-Shaheed was the 32nd Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra. He succeeded Kasim Khan Zainuddin bin Feer Khan. He was the first Da'i to be martyred for his faith, and in a manner that resembles the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, and so his burial place, Mazar-e-Qutbi, is referred to as Choti Karbala.
Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin Bin Syedna Zakiuddin was the 42nd Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Musta‘lī Islam. He succeeded the 41st Da'i Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin Bin Badruddin, to the religious post.
Syedna Ismail Badruddin (II) Bin Syedi Sheikh Adam was the 38th Dā'ī of the Dawoodi Bohras. He succeeded the 37th Da'i Syedna Noor Mohammad Nooruddin to the religious post.
Syedna Mohammad Ezzuddin was the 23rd Dai of the Dawoodi Bohra, a sub-sect of Isma'ili Shi'i Islam. The Dawoodi Bohra trace their belief system back to Yemen, where it evolved from the Fatimid Caliphate and where they were persecuted due to their differences from mainstream Sunni Islam and Zaydi Islam. Around 1567 CE, the Dawat was relocated to Gujarat, India.
Syedna Noor Mohammed Nooruddin was the 37th al-Dai al-Mutlaq (vicegerent) of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, a subsect of Shia Islam.
Syedna Ibrahim Wajihuddin Bin Syedi AbdulQadir Hakimuddin was the 39th Dā'ī of the Dawoodi Bohras. He succeeded the 38th Dā'ī Syedna Ismail Badruddin II to the religious post.
Syedna Hebatullah-il-Muʾayyad Fiddeen bin Syedna Ibrahim Wajihuddin was the 40th Dā'ī al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect. He succeeded his father, the 39th Dā'ī al-Mutlaq, Syedna Ibrahim Wajihuddin to the religious post.
Syedna Musa Kalimuddin Bin Syedna Zakiuddin, Jamnagar, India) was the 36th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Islam. He succeeded the 35th Da'i Syedna Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin, to the religious post. His period of Dawat was from 1110–1122 AH/ 1692–1711 AD.
Syedna AbdulQadir Najmuddin bin Syedna Tayyeb Zainuddin became the 47th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect amid succession disputes.
Syedi Fakhruddin Shaheed is the 11th-century holy Ismaili, Fatimid, mustaali saint who was first Ismaili martyr, martyred during missionary work among Bhils local tribal in Rajasthan and buried in Galiakot, India. The mausoleum is the most venerated place amongst his followers.
Syedna Jalal Shamshuddin bin Hasan was the 25th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra branch of Musta‘lī Ismaili Islam. He was the first Ismaili Dai in India after the shift of Daawat office from Yemen to India. He succeeded the 24th Dai Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin ibn Sulaiman to the religious post.
Abdeali Saifuddin was the 43rd Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra. He was the son of 41st Da'i al-Mutlaq Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin III and the brother of the 42nd Da'i al-Mutlaq Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin. He was a Dai, scholar and poet and one of the most venerated Dawoodi Bohra Dai's.
Syedna AbdulHusain Husamuddin bin Syedna Tayyeb Zainuddin was the 48th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra. He was born on the day of Ashura in 1239 AH/1823 AD and died on 27th Zilhijjat al-Haram 1308 AH/1891 AD in Ahmedabad, India.
Syedna Qasim-Khan Zainuddin was the 31st Dai of the Dawoodi Bohras. He succeeded the 30th Dai Syedna Ali Shamsuddin to the religious post.
Syedna Ali Shamsuddin bin Maulaya Hasan was the 30th Dai of the Dawoodi Bohras. He succeeded the 29th Dai Syedna Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin to the religious post. Syedna Shamsuddin became Da'i al-Mutlaq in 1041 AH. His period of Dawat was 1041–1042 AH.
Syedna Abduttayyeb Zakiuddin Bin Syedna Ismail Badruddin was the 41st Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Ismaili Musta‘lī Islam. He succeeded the 40th Da'i Hebatullah-il-Moayed Fiddeen, to the religious post.
Syedna Mohammed Ezzuddin Bin Syedi Jivanjee was the 44th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra sect. He succeeded the 43rd Da'i, Syedna Abde'Ali Saifuddin, to the religious post at the age of 29. He was born in 1788.
Syedna Mohammed Badruddin was the 46th Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra. He succeeded the 45th Da'i, Syedna Tayyeb Zainuddin, to the religious post. He was born in Bharuch in 1811. He was seven years old when his father Syedna Abde'Ali Saifuddin died. He was taken under the care of Syedna Mohammed Ezzuddin who brought him up and nurtured him for four years.
