Techno Mart refers to either of two different shopping malls in Seoul, South Korea.[ clarification needed ] The Gangbyeon branch, located in Gwangjin District, contains an estimated 2000 electronics and appliances stores. [1] The Sindorim branch is located in Guro District. [2]
On 5 July 2011, the top 19 stories of the 39-story building housing the Gangbyeon branch of Techno Mart shook violently for 10 minutes and was evacuated for two days. [3] After study, it was determined that 17 people performing Tae Bo exercises to "The Power" in a 12th floor fitness center caused the building to vibrate by creating a mechanical resonance. The tentative conclusion was the consensus among the six professors from an architectural institute and vibration measurement experts who participated in a recreation of the event. The Architectural Institute of Korea was scheduled to release the final results of the safety inspection later in 2011. [4] [5]

The Merchandise Mart is a commercial building located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. When it was opened in 1930, it was the largest building in the world, with 4 million square feet (372,000 m2) of floor space. The Art Deco structure is located at the junction of the Chicago River's branches. The New York Times Building is a 52-story skyscraper at 620 Eighth Avenue, between 40th and 41st Streets near Times Square, on the west side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Its chief tenant is the New York Times Company, publisher of The New York Times. The building is 1,046 ft (318.8 m) tall to its pinnacle, with a roof height of 748 ft (228 m). Designed by Renzo Piano and Fox & Fowle, the building was developed by the New York Times Company, Forest City Ratner, and ING Real Estate. The interiors are divided into separate ownership units, with the Times Company operating the lower office floors and Brookfield Properties operating the upper floors. As of 2023, the New York Times Building is tied with the Chrysler Building as the twelfth-tallest building in the city.
The NBC Tower is an office tower on the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois located at 454 North Columbus Drive in downtown Chicago's Magnificent Mile area. Completed in 1989, the 37-story building reaches a height of 627 feet. NBC's Chicago offices, studios, and owned-and-operated station WMAQ-TV are based in the building. At 10 o'clock on the evening of October 1, 1989, WMAQ-TV broadcast its first newscast from the new home, with the then-weeknight news team of Ron Magers, Carol Marin, John Coleman, and Mark Giangreco. Telemundo O&O WSNS-TV has also occupied the building since its purchase by NBC in 2001, and NBC's former radio properties, WKQX, and WLUP-FM, continue to maintain studios in the tower.
Sindorim station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1 and Line 2 (underground). It is also the southeastern terminus of Line 2's Sinjeong Branch to Kkachisan. The station is located at the northern edge of Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, on the border with Yeongdeungpo-gu.
Gangbyeon Station (Korean: 강변역) is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 2. The name of this station literally means "riverside," pertaining to its proximity to the Han River.
Dorimcheon (Korean: 도림천역) is a station on the Sinjeong Branch of the Seoul Subway Line 2. It is the least-used station on Line 2. This station is located in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul.
Guro District (Guro-gu) is a district of Seoul, South Korea, which was separated from Yeongdeungpo District on April 1, 1980. Located in the southwestern part of the city, where besides Yangcheon District and Geumcheon District Guro District has an important position as a transport link which contains railroads, land routes from the rest of Seoul to the south of the country. The Gyeongbu and Gyeongin railway lines connect Seoul to Busan and Incheon. In addition, Seoul Metropolitan Subway lines 1, 2, and 7, and major highways intersect in Guro District.
