Ted Reilly (born 14 September 1991) is a British actor, [1] who is the second actor who played the role of Johnny Carter in EastEnders from 2016 to 2018, because the original actor chose not to return, and the show's producers recast the role. [2] [3] [4] Before that, however, he appeared in popular television programmes, including Casualty , Law & Order: UK , Grantchester and Call the Midwife . Reilly quit EastEnders in December 2017, and his final scenes aired on 29 January 2018.
Reilly made his acting debut during an episode on Casualty as Danni Petrovich in "Life Goes On". [1] He later went on to appear in the short Heart of Nowhere as Dropkick 2. He has also appeared in the first ever episode of television series Suspects as Robbie Hyland in 2014. Later in the year, he appeared in Law and Order UK as Paul Downing, Playhouse Presents for one episode as Daniel Pettigrew. He also appeared in the short Half Time and Down as Teddy, and in Grantchester as Justin during the first series' fifth episode. In 2016, he appeared as Ian Bulmer for one episode in Call the Midwife and in April made his EastEnders debut before making an appearance in the short Party Party. [1]
Reilly made his debut appearance as Johnny Carter on 11 April 2016. The role was previously portrayed by Sam Strike.
Reilly appears as school boy Henry in LGBT short film Birthday Boy (2021) directed by NFTS alumnus Leo Lebeau. [5]

Caleb "Cal" Knight is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama Casualty, played by actor Richard Winsor. He first appeared in the series twenty-eight episode "Brothers at Arms", broadcast on 18 January 2014. Winsor had previously auditioned for a role in Casualty's spin-off show Holby City. Producers were impressed and recalled him to read for the part of Cal. Winsor's casting was announced alongside George Rainsford who was hired to play Cal's brother Ethan Hardy. The pair had to pass a screen test together as producers were looking for a strong sibling chemistry. Cal's role in the show is a Specialist registrar in emergency medicine. He was originally introduced as a locum. The medic is played as a lothario and womaniser type character. He can manipulate those around him with charm to better his career. Writers gave Cal a backstory detailing the difficult relationship with his father and brother. Despite having the same parents Cal and Ethan had different upbringings, which sets up a sibling rivalry. Their relationship has been important in the development of both characters. Executive producer Oliver Kent has called the character consistent because when faced with trauma, Cal gets drunk, sleeps with women and makes a fool of himself.
"Too Old for This Shift" is a special feature-length episode of the British medical drama television series Casualty. It was broadcast as the premiere episode of its thirty-first series on 27 August 2016, on BBC One, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the show. The special, which is 99 minutes long, was co-written by Matthew Barry and Andy Bayliss, directed by Steve Hughes, and produced by Lucy Raffety.

The thirty-third series of the British medical drama television series Casualty began airing on BBC One in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2018, one week after the end of the previous series. The series consisted of 46 episodes. Lucy Raffety continued her role as series producer, while Simon Harper continued his role as the show's executive producer. Sixteen regular cast members reprised their roles from the previous series. The series, which was billed as "The Year of the Paramedic", begins with a motorway collision stunt sequence, and features a crossover episode with spin-off series, Holby City. This series featured the departures of six cast members, including Amanda Mealing as Connie Beauchamp, Azuka Oforka as Louise Tyler and Chelsea Halfpenny as Alicia Munroe. Four new regular cast members also joined the series, while two actors began appearing in a recurring capacity.

Charlie Suff is an English actor and musician. He was born and grew up in Brighton and later studied Performing Arts at East Sussex College. He then trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where he appeared in various theatre productions. He then performed in other plays, such as Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons in 2019. Suff has also appeared in various short films and other productions, including a play he wrote during the COVID-19 pandemic, and guest starred in the British television shows Grace and Grantchester. In 2023, Suff was cast as Johnny Carter on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, becoming the third actor to play the character. He debuted as Johnny in February 2024 and was later nominated for "Best newcomer" at the 2024 Inside Soap Awards for the role.

In December 2023, it was announced that the character would be returning, played by Charlie Suff. Johnny returned on 9 February 2024.
