<span class="mw-page-title-main">Martha G. Scott</span> American politician from Michigan

Martha G. Scott is an American politician serving as a member of the Wayne County Commission. She previously served as a Democratic member of the Michigan State Senate from 2001 through 2010, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1994 through 2001. Her senate district included the northeast section of Detroit and the cities of Hamtramck, Highland Park, Harper Woods, and the five Grosse Pointes. She was term limited at the 2010 elections, and ran for the office of Wayne County Commissioner. She won election has since been reelected several times to the Wayne County Commission.

Richard Henry Austin was an American politician. A Democrat, he served as the Michigan secretary of state from 1971 to 1995, the first African American elected to the position, the first to win election to any statewide office in Michigan except the Supreme Court, and the longest-serving Secretary of State in the state. Also, the first Black certified public accountant in Michigan, he previously served from 1967 to 1971 as the first Black Wayne County auditor, and ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Detroit in 1969.

Thomas L. Leonard III is an American attorney and politician. He is a former member of the Michigan House of Representatives who served as Speaker of the House from 2017 to 2019. Elected in 2012 to succeed term-limited Paul Opsommer, Leonard represented the residents of Clinton and Gratiot County. Prior to that, he worked as a prosecutor. Leonard unsuccessfully ran for Michigan Attorney General in 2018 and was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan.

Sara Cambensy is an American politician who served in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 109th District, and is a member of the Democratic Party. Prior to her election to the state legislature, Cambensy served on the Marquette City Commission and the Marquette Planning Commission and was the director of adult and continuing education for Marquette Community Schools.

The 2024 United States Senate election in Michigan was held on November 5, 2024, to elect a Class I member of the United States Senate to represent the state of Michigan. It was held concurrently with the 2024 United States presidential election, other elections to the U.S. Senate, elections to the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as various state and local elections. Democratic U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin narrowly defeated Republican former U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, as they were both seeking their first term in office. Slotkin will succeed Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow, who declined to seek a fifth term.
