Tetsuji Kato ( Japanese: 加藤 鉄史, Katō Tetsuji) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who competed in the welterweight and lightweight divisions in Shooto, Strikeforce and DEEP. [1] He was the SuperBrawl 7 Light Heavyweight Tournament winner, defeating Ben Hernandez in the finals.

PRIDE Fighting Championships was a Japanese mixed martial arts promotion company. Its inaugural event was held at the Tokyo Dome on October 11, 1997. Pride held more than sixty mixed martial arts events, broadcast to about 40 countries worldwide. PRIDE was owned by the holding company Dream Stage Entertainment (DSE).
Shooto is a combat sport and mixed martial arts organization that is governed by the Shooto Association and the International Shooto Commission. Shooto was originally formed in 1985, first as a particular fighting system and then in 1989 as a mixed martial arts promotion. It is considered one of the first true mixed martial arts competitions, with its Vale Tudo Japan events being essential to the rise of PRIDE Fighting Championships and the development of modern MMA. Many Japanese MMA fighters had their start at Shooto and the organization still holds both professional and amateur tournaments. The list of current and past MMA fighters to come from Shooto roots is quite impressive.
Sanae Kikuta is a Japanese mixed martial artist currently competing in the Welterweight division. A professional competitor since 1996, he has competed for the UFC, PRIDE Fighting Championships, Pancrase, DREAM, World Victory Road, DEEP, Shooto, and Vale Tudo Japan. He is the former Pancrase Light Heavyweight Champion (2001–2003) and the winner of the ADCC 88 kg class in 2001.
Kaoru "Caol" Uno is a Japanese mixed martial artist and professional wrestler. He is the Co-Champion of the UFC 41 Lightweight Tournament and a former Shooto Lightweight Champion. As one of the early Ultimate Fighting Championship's elite Lightweight competitors, Uno competed for the UFC Lightweight Championship on two occasions. Despite falling short in both championship bouts; losing a five-round decision against Jens Pulver at UFC 30, to determine the inaugural UFC Lightweight Champion as well as a draw against B.J. Penn at UFC 41, Uno is acknowledged as a pioneer for his impact and influence during the early era of the UFC Lightweight Division.
Satoru Sayama is a Japanese professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, MMA and wrestling promoter and writer, best known as the original Tiger Mask. He has wrestled under his real name as well as the names Sammy Lee, and masked Super Tiger, Tiger King, Tiger Mask and The Mask of Tiger. He is the only man to hold the WWF Junior Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship simultaneously. He is also the founder of Shooto, Seikendo and Real Japan Pro Wrestling. Bret Hart has called Sayama the "Bruce Lee of wrestling" because of his lightning speed, martial arts skills and athleticism.
Shungo Oyama is a Japanese former professional mixed martial artist. A professional competitor from 2001 to 2014, he competed for the PRIDE Fighting Championships, Pancrase, RINGS, DREAM, K-1, and King of the Cage.
Akira Kikuchi is a Japanese retired mixed martial artist and a former Shooto Welterweight Champion. He trained alongside Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto with the Killer Bee team.
Hayate Usui is a Japanese professional mixed martial artist and pro Shooto fighter. From Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, he now lives and trains in Tokyo at Wajitsu Keishukai's RJW and Tokyo HQ.
Kohei Sato is a Japanese professional wrestler contracted with Pro Wrestling Zero1. Sato is also a former mixed martial artist.
Lee Hasdell is a British martial artist, promoter and former professional kickboxer and mixed martial artist. Hasdell is considered by many to be a pioneer of mixed martial arts in the United Kingdom, particularly in the 1990s, when he drove a great deal of innovation in the field. Hasdell promoted the first professional mixed martial arts events in the UK and helped develop many of the standards within the British MMA scene of today.
Zane Troy Frazier is an American former karateka, kickboxer and mixed martial artist who competed in the heavyweight division. After a successful career in karate during the 1980s in which he won numerous international accolades, Frazier then turned his hand to kickboxing and became a United States and North American champion. After taking part at the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship event in 1993, he would continue his career in MMA until retiring in 2008.
Kiyotaka Shimizu is a Japanese mixed martial artist. Shimizu fought primarily in Pancrase, as well as Shooto and Sengoku.
Akihiko Adachi is a Japanese light heavyweight mixed martial artist. Adachi was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. He fought as a professional mixed martial artist from Paraesta Matsudo in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture beginning in 2000. Adachi was the top amateur Shooto light heavyweight in 2002, and was named the Shooto cruiserweight rookie of the year in 2003. Adachi's last bout was in 2006 and he formally retired from mixed martial arts in 2008.
Masanori Suda is a Japanese mixed martial artist. He competed in the Welterweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight divisions. Suda is known primarily for his time in Shooto, where he is a former Light Heavyweight Champion. He held the title until his retirement in 2006.
Ryuta Sakurai Japanese: 桜井隆多(born September 8, 1971) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who currently competes in the middleweight division. A veteran who fought for many companies such as Shooto, Pancrase and PRIDE. Nicknamed Mr. DEEP, he is best known for spending most of his fighting career in DEEP, where he is a former DEEP Middleweight champion.
Shuichiro Katsumura is a Japanese former mixed martial artist and professional wrestler who currently competes for DDT Pro-Wrestling, where he was a Independent World Junior Heavyweight champion. He competed in the Flyweight, Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions. Katsumura is credited in popularizing the "Ninja Choke" submission and is the current owner of ZST.
Ryan Bow is a retired American mixed martial arts fighter from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bow is a coach, author, and entrepreneur. He fought in both the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions and is a black belt in Kodokan Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Bow was taught by prominent fighters such as former five times UFC Middleweight Champion Frank Shamrock, and was a member of the American Kickboxing Academy's professional fight team.
Ryota Matsune Japanese: 松根良太 is a retired Japanese mixed martial artist. He competed professionally from 2000 to 2015 and held the Shooto Featherweight title from August 2003 to February 2006.
