Teus Nobel is a Dutch jazz trumpet player and flugelhorn player. He performs with different bands and is a teacher at Fontys Hogeschool. In 2020 he won an Edison Award for the album Saudade.

Biography

Teus Nobel studied classical music and jazz at the Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam. Here he obtained a bachelor's (2006 [1] ) and a master's degree, with a research project on the intellectual legacy of jazz trumpeter Woody Shaw. [2]

He has played and toured with the Rotterdam Ska Jazz Foundation, Caro Emerald, The Kyteman Orchestra and Frank McComb. With his own Liberty Group he performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival. [3] [4]

Nobel has released several albums, [5] with Liberty Group and collaborated with Jef Neve and Roeland Jacobs/Radio Filharmonisch Orkest. With Jacobs he won an Edison Award in 2020 for their Saudade album. [6]

He has been a teacher at Fontys Academy of Music & Performing Arts since 2020. [7]

Lito: Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival is a live album by saxophonist Carlos Ward, his debut as a leader. It was recorded on July 9, 1988, at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and was released on LP in 1989 by Leo Records. On the album, Ward is joined by trumpeter Woody Shaw, bassist Walter Schmocker, and drummer Alex Deutsch. The album was reissued in 1992 with an additional track.

Jarmo Hoogendijk is a Dutch former jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player. He performed successfully from the 1980s until 2004, when he ended his active career as a musician. Since then, he has been teaching music at three major Dutch music academies: Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Codarts Jazz Academy Rotterdam and the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

Ben van den Dungen is a Dutch jazz saxophonist, composer and music educator. Van den Dungen studied at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, graduating cum laude (1988). He has been performing nationally and internationally since the 1980s and teaches at the Codarts Jazz Academy Rotterdam.
