The 147th district of the Texas House of Representatives contains parts of Houston. The current representative is Jolanda Jones, who has represented the district since 2022. [1]
Jones County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 19,663. Its county seat is Anson. The county was created in 1858 and organized in 1881. Both the county and its county seat are named for Anson Jones, the fourth and final president of the Republic of Texas.
The University of Houston Law Center is the law school of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1947, the Law Center is one of 12 colleges of the University of Houston, a state university. It is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school's facilities are located on the university's 667-acre campus in southeast Houston.
Texas's 8th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives includes all of Walker, Montgomery and San Jacinto counties, and parts of Harris County. Mansfield High School is a public secondary school located at 3001 East Broad Street in Mansfield, Texas. Part of the Mansfield Independent School District, the school serves a portion of Mansfield. As of 2018, the school had 2,688 students. Mansfield High School is known for their baseball and golf sports programs. As well as being the last school district in the country to desegregate, and only doing so when the national guard was brought to escort the first 3 African American students into the building.
