Texas Christian Academy (TCA) was a private college preparatory school in Waco, Texas. The school mascot was the Star.
Waco is a city in central Texas and is the county seat of McLennan County, Texas, United States. It is situated along the Brazos River and I-35, halfway between Dallas and Austin. The city had a 2010 population of 124,805, making it the 22nd-most populous city in the state. The 2017 US Census population estimate is 136,436 The Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area consists of McLennan and Falls Counties, which had a 2010 population of 234,906. Falls County was added to the Waco MSA in 2013. The 2017 US Census population estimate for the Waco MSA is 268,696.
TCA was created in 2000 from the merger of Waco Christian School and Waco Covenant Academy.
In 2012, TCA merged with Parkview Christian Academy in Waco, moving from 4600 Sanger Ave. to the Parkview campus at 1100 Lake Shore Drive, but retaining the TCA name. The combined school's total enrollment was approximately 230. [1] In 2013, the TCA-Parkview merger dissolved and the two schools became separate organizations again.

The student-teacher ratio at TCA was 12:1 with the class size range from 6-22. Honors and Advanced Placement classes were available as well as dual credit classes offered through McLennan Community College in Waco. TCA had been accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and TABS/ACTABS.
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. The AP curriculum for each of the various subjects is created for the College Board by a panel of experts and college-level educators in that field of study. For a high school course to have the designation, the course must be audited by the College Board to ascertain that it satisfies the AP curriculum. If the course is approved, the school may use the AP designation and the course will be publicly listed on the AP Course Ledger.
McLennan Community College (MCC) is a public community college in McLennan County, Texas. Located in Waco, Texas, it opened in 1965. MCC now serves about 9,000 students and has more than 700 employees. It is governed by a Board of Trustees elected from single-member districts in the county.

Parkview High School is a public high school located near Lilburn in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. It is operated by Gwinnett County Public Schools. Since its opening in 1976, Parkview has won numerous awards and state championships, both in academics and athletics. The school has had an ongoing rivalry with neighboring Brookwood High School since the 1990s. Parkview offers several AP courses and has a large number of gifted students. Parkview High School is a public high school located in Springfield, Missouri. Part of Springfield Public Schools, it was the second high school to have been built in Springfield, after Central High School. Parkview graduated its first class in 1957. The following year, a new wing was constructed due to the large number students enrolling. In 1992, an auditorium was added to Parkview for its music and drama productions. In 2001, a new music room was finished and renovations to other classrooms were completed. The most recent changes to Parkview have been the demolition of the old north wing and adding a new wing to replace it. It was completed and occupied in January 2006. It was formally dedicated on September 21, 2006. Phase two of the addition was completed at the beginning of the 2008-09 school year. The second addition included a new library media center, cafeteria and kitchen, and many classrooms; the old library and cafeteria were converted to classrooms as well. Over 90% of the building is new or renovated construction since the completion of the two-phase, 20 million dollar project in November 2008. A formal dedication ceremony for Phase II was held on September 18, 2008.
Alexander James Moore Academy was a magnet high school in the Waco ISD district in Waco, TX. A.J. Moore was designed to prepare students for success in post secondary education and in the workplace. Students were prepared to excel academically, physically and socially. Special emphasis was placed on business, engineering, entrepreneurship, technology, and post-secondary education. In February 2012, the Waco Independent School District decided in part, avoiding a $3.4 million budget shortfall, to close and consolidate A. J. Moore Academy with University High School. On June 2, 2012, A.J. Moore Academy gave diplomas to its last graduating class. A. J. Moore Academy existed as a stand-alone school for 14 years.

The Barrow Grammar Schools were two adjacent single-sex education schools in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England during the 20th century. Both schools merged in 1979 to form the co-educational Parkview Community College of Technology. Parkview School itself was merged in 2012 with Thorncliffe School and Alfred Barrow School to form Furness Academy. Parkview School and all elements of the former Grammar Schools were demolished in 2014 with a new school building for Furness Academy being constructed in the playing fields of Parkview.
