State Highway 240 (SH 240) is a Texas state highway that runs from Harrold east to Burkburnett, then south parallel to Interstate 44 to Wichita Falls. [1]

Route description

SH 240 begins at an intersection with US 287 south of Harrold in eastern Wilbarger County. [3] The route travels eastward and soon crosses into Wichita County, intersecting SH 25 in Haynesville. The highway enters the city of Burkburnett along 3rd Street before turning to the south and crossing the I-44 freeway. [4] SH 240 then roughly parallels the freeway, and passes Sheppard AFB as it enters Wichita Falls city limits along Burkburnett Road. [5] SH 240 parallels the Wichita, Tillman and Jackson Railway line as it travels through the city center before the route ends at Bus. US 287 on the east side of the city. [1]

History

SH 240 was originally designated on December 22, 1936, from Harrold to Burkburnett. It was extended south to Wichita Falls on April 24, 1964, over the former route of US 277  / US 281  / US 287 when the new route was opened. [1]

Farm to Market Road 157 is a Farm to Market Road in the US state of Texas, traveling from an exit on Texas State Highway 121 south, through Euless, Bedford, Fort Worth, and Arlington in Tarrant County, then enters Johnson County, and passes through Mansfield, and Venus, before entering Ellis County, and terminating at an intersection with Farm to Market Road 66 in Maypearl. While located in Euless and Bedford, FM 157 is known as Industrial Boulevard, while in Fort Worth, it is known as Collins Street. In Arlington, the route continues on North Collins, Division, and South Cooper Streets. The route continues through central Mansfield, and south to Maypearl. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) designated the route in 1945, and redesignated the portion traveling from SH 121 to US Bus. 287 as Urban Road 157 from 1995 until 2018.
