Textile schools in Bangladesh

Textile schools in Bangladesh offer various academic and professional degrees in textile fields. A number of colleges and technical institutes as well as some universities offer diploma, bachelor's and master's degree from their allocated faculties upon completion of certification courses. Textile courses offered in these schools include spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, apparels merchandising and fashion designing. As of 2019, textile material is the largest export item of Bangladesh. [1] Bangladesh exported $42.35 billion worth of readymade garments in the 2018–2019 fiscal year. [2]

Bangabandhu Textile Engineering College (BTEC) is a textile based research college located in Kalihati, Tangail. The college is academically operated by BUTEX and was previously affiliated with University of Dhaka under its faculty of science and engineering for nine years. In August 2018, the executive committee of the National Economic Council approved the establishment of the college at a cost of Tk 1.746 billion Bangladeshi taka.

Sheikh Kamal Textile Engineering College is an undergraduate government engineering college located in the Jhenaidah district of the Khulna division of Bangladesh. The college offers four year BSc Engineering degree under Bangladesh Textile University. In the 2017–18 academic year, the college started its academic activities in BSc Engineering in Textile Engineering.
