The institute also provides intensive training on Panchakarma for Ayurvedic physicians. This institute organises Post-Graduate three-month-long Special Certificate Course in Panchkarma after graduation for Ayurvedic doctors is held twice a year. On 21 October 2010, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare upgraded the institute as a Centre of Excellence.There are opportunities for students who seek to learn and practice Panchakarma course as Masseurs conducted in a gap of every 4–5 years.Seats are limited.Duration of the course is one year.
Vasant Dattatray Lad is an Indian author, Ayurvedic physician, professor and director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lad received the degree of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) in 1968 from the University of Pune, in Pune, India and a Master of Ayurvedic Science (M.A.Sc.) in 1980 from Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya in Pune. Before coming to the United States in 1979, Lad served as the medical director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune for three years and as Professor of Clinical Medicine for seven years at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine.
