The Bachelor Australia is a reality television adaptation of the U.S. series of the same name. The series, hosted by Osher Günsberg, first premiered on Network 10 on 8 September 2013. Its success resulted in spin-offs The Bachelorette Australia and Bachelor in Paradise Australia.

The season follows Tim Robards, a 30-year-old Sydney based chiropractor originally from Newcastle, as he romantically pursues a cast of 25 women, with the goal of finding his wife.

Johnson previously appeared on the second season of The Bachelorette Australia featuring Georgia Love, where he was the runner-up.

The season features Ali Oetjen, a 32-year-old healthy lifestyle motivator from Adelaide, South Australia, courting 18 men. Oetjen previously appeared on the first season of The Bachelor Australia featuring Tim Robards, where she finished in third place and later appeared on the first season of Bachelor in Paradise Australia.

The fifth season of The Bachelorette Australia premiered on Network 10 on Wednesday, 9 October 2019. The season features Angie Kent, a 29-year-old marketing and production assistant and former Gogglebox Australia star from Sydney, courting 21 men.
The eighth season of The Bachelor premiered on 12 August 2020. This season features Locky Gilbert, a 30-year-old adventure tour guide from Perth, Western Australia. Gilbert previously appeared on the fourth and seventh seasons of Australian Survivor, where he finished in fifth and twelfth place respectively.
The third season of Bachelor in Paradise Australia premiered on 15 July 2020. Osher Günsberg reprised his role as host from the previous two series and the Bachelor Australia franchise.
The sixth season of The Bachelorette Australia premiered on Wednesday, 7 October 2020. In an Australian first, the season features Newcastle, New South Wales sisters Elly Miles, a 25-year-old nurse, and Becky Miles, a 30-year-old defence contracting specialist as Bachelorettes. Together, they will court 20 men. Elly previously appeared on the seventh season of The Bachelor Australia, where she finished in fifth place.
The seventh season of The Bachelorette Australia premiered on Wednesday, 20 October 2021. In a world first, the season features Brooke Blurton, a 26-year-old social worker from Melbourne, Victoria, who is the first bisexual Bachelorette in The Bachelor franchise history, courting 10 men and 10 women. She is also Australia's first Indigenous lead. Brooke previously appeared on the sixth season of The Bachelor Australia, where she finished in third place; and the second season of Bachelor in Paradise Australia.
The tenth season of The Bachelor Australia, known as The Bachelors, premiered on 9 January 2023. For the first time in the franchise, this season features three Bachelors: Felix Von Hofe, a 27-year-old marketing manager, sports commentator and former professional NBL player from Melbourne, Victoria; Jed McIntosh, a 25-year-old musician from Gippsland, Victoria and multi-millionaire entrepreneur and co-founder of ACTS Music Group; and Thomas Malucelli, a 35-year-old restaurant manager from Sydney, New South Wales. The season was the first in the series to have been filmed on the Gold Coast in Queensland with the production having previously been traditionally filmed in Sydney, New South Wales.
The eleventh and final season of The Bachelor Australia, known as The Bachelors, premiered on 3 December 2023. For the second consecutive season, there are three Bachelors: Ben Waddell, a 36-year-old international model and environmentalist from Melbourne, Victoria; Luke Bateman, a 28-year-old lumberjack and former NRL player from Toowoomba, Queensland; and Wesley Senna Cortes, a 33-year-old theology student and marketing & sales manager from Brazil, living in Sydney, New South Wales.
