Jennifer Tran (born November 24, 1997) [2] [3] is an American television personality who appeared on season 28 of The Bachelor , and starred in season 21 of The Bachelorette . [4] She is the first Asian-American in the lead role in the history of the Bachelor franchise. [5]

Early life and education

Tran was born and raised in Hillsdale, New Jersey, to Vietnamese immigrants. [2] [6] She has an older brother, James. [5] She graduated from Pascack Valley High School in 2016, where she played basketball and lacrosse. [7] [8]

Tran attended the University of Pittsburgh for two years, before transferring to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. [1] [9] She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology in 2020. [10]

Career

Prior to appearing on The Bachelor, Tran was a graduate student at Barry University in Miami in the physician assistant program. She is scheduled to graduate in 2024 with a Master of Science in Clinical Medical Science. [11]

Reality television

The Bachelor

In September 2023, Tran was revealed to be a contestant on season 28 of The Bachelor , starring teaching tennis pro Joey Graziadei. [12] She finished in fifth place, with Graziadei sending her home at the last rose ceremony before hometowns. [13]

The Bachelorette

Tran was announced as The Bachelorette on March 25, 2024, during the After the Final Rose special. [4]
