The eighth season of The Bachelorette , an ABC reality television series, premiered on May 14, 2012. This season features 26-year-old Emily Maynard, a single mother from West Virginia living in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Maynard was previously the winner of season 15 of The Bachelor , where she got engaged to Brad Womack; however, they ended their engagement in May 2011.
The season concluded on July 22, 2012, with Maynard accepting a proposal from 27-year-old entrepreneur Jef Holm. They ended their engagement in October 2012.
This is the first season of The Bachelorette filmed in Maynard's current city of Charlotte, North Carolina, where she and her daughter Ricki Hendrick live [1] [2] [3] [4] (along with the child's paternal grandfather; the child's father died before she was born). [5] This marks the first time a show in The Bachelor franchise has taken place in the Southern United States and also the second time one has been filmed on the East Coast since New York City in season three. On January 18, 2012, Maynard was announced as the next Bachelorette. [10]

Michael Nance died on May 29, 2017. The official cause of his death was multiple drug toxicity, according to the Travis County Office of the Medical Examiner. His death was ruled as accidental. [11]

Chris Bukowski, Kalon McMahon, and Tony Pieper returned for the third season of Bachelor Pad . McMahon and his partner, Lindzi Cox, were eliminated in week 6, finishing in 5th place. Pieper and his partner, Blakeley Jones, were eliminated at the beginning of week 7, finishing in 4th place. Bukowski and his partner, Sarah Newlon, finished as the runners-up.
Bukowski returned for season 10 of The Bachelorette during night one. However, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman decided she didn't want to meet him, and he was sent home.
Bukowski and McMahon returned for the inaugural season of Bachelor in Paradise . Bukowski quit the show in week 3 due to a leg injury. McMahon was eliminated in week 4.
Bukowski returned for season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, but quit the show in week 4.
Bukowski returned once again for season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise, and left engaged to Katie Morton.
Outside of the Bachelor Nation franchise, Lowe competed in the sixteenth season of Dancing with the Stars . He was partnered with Peta Murgatroyd and finished in 6th place. [28]

The Bachelor is an American dating and relationship reality television series that debuted on March 25, 2002, on ABC. For its first 25 seasons, the show was hosted by Chris Harrison. As the essence of the original The Bachelor franchise, its success resulted in several spin-offs including The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, Bachelor in Paradise, Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise, The Bachelor Winter Games, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette, as well as spawning many international editions of the shows.
The Bachelorette is an American reality television dating game show that debuted on ABC on January 8, 2003. The show is a spin-off of The Bachelor and the staple part of The Bachelor franchise. The first season featured Trista Rehn, the runner-up from the first season of The Bachelor, offering the opportunity for Rehn to choose a husband among 25 bachelors. The 2004 season of The Bachelorette again took a runner-up from the previous season of The Bachelor. After last airing on February 28, 2005, the series returned to ABC during the spring of 2008, following an absence of three years, and has since become an annual staple of the network's summer programming.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. is a Dutch-American auto racing driver, television personality, and son of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk. He has competed mostly in North America where his father lives and made his career. Luyendyk is best known for competing in the Indy Lights Series where he finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Championship over a number of years. He was named a test-driver in A1 Grand Prix alongside Jeroen Bleekemolen for A1 Team The Netherlands starting the 2007–08 season.

Ready for Love is an American reality matchmaking competition television series that aired for three weeks on NBC in 2013 and six subsequent weeks on NBC.com. The tenth season of The Bachelorette premiered on May 19, 2014, and featured Andi Dorfman, a 27-year-old assistant district attorney from Atlanta, Georgia. Dorfman finished in third place on season 18 of The Bachelor, featuring Juan Pablo Galavis, after she eliminated herself because of Galavis' behavior on their overnight date.

So You Think You Can Dance, an American dance competition show, returned for its twelfth season, titled So You Think You Can Dance: Stage Vs. Street, on Monday, June 1, 2015. Seventeen episodes were broadcast on the Fox Network, including episode nine on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, which was a special celebrating the tenth anniversary of the show titled "A Decade of Dance Special Edition". The sixteen regular episodes aired each week on Mondays, rather than Wednesdays as it had been in recent previous seasons. On September 14, 2015, Gaby Diaz won the competition and made history by becoming the first tap dancer to win the title.
