The Bachelor, also called HaRavak, [1] is a reality show broadcast on Israeli Channel 10 from December 2009. The program is based on the American format of The Bachelor first aired in 2002 on ABC.

Format

Each season, there is one single man (the "Bachelor") and a group of single women who are collectively competing for his heart (the "contestants"). The season takes place over a series of episodes where the Bachelor embarks on various dates and romantic getaways with the contestants as he determines his compatibility with each of them. Along the way, the Bachelor will eliminate contestants until he narrows down the playing field to two eligible candidates. At this point, the Bachelor will decide the winner, and they continue together in a relationship.

In the first season of the show, the bachelor was Guy Geyor, who previously participated in the second season of Survivor (Israeli TV series). At the end of the season, he chose contestant Daphne de Groot. The second season of the show began airing on June 12, 2013, with the singer Dudu Aharon as the Bachelor looking for his fiancée. The final program was broadcast on 29 August 2013 with Aharon selecting challenger Danino. Shortly after the final broadcast the two announced that they had separated.

HaAh HaGadol 5 is the fifth season of the Israeli version of the reality show Big Brother. The season began broadcasting on 5 May 2013, and ended on 27 August 2013. Eighteen housemates entered the house during the premiere, and another five housemates joined after sixty-six days. It is the first season to be broadcast in 16:9 widescreen format. It was also the longest-running Israeli season at the time, lasting 115 days, until it was surpassed by season 9 which ran for 120 days.

HaKokhav HaBa is an Israeli interactive reality singing competition, which is broadcast on Channel 2 from 2013 to 2017 and on Channel 12 since 2017. It is based on the Rising Star franchise created by Keshet Media Group. The show is a continuation of Kokhav Nolad which featured aspiring singers competing for a winning title. The program's format combines the internet, smartphone and television and is filmed live. Between 2015 and 2020, the show was used to select Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest; it will return to be used in 2024.

Israel participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organised the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select the singer. The winner of the Israeli national selection was Netta Barzilai, and a committee of the Israeli broadcaster internally selected the song "Toy" for her.

Israel participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the entry "Home" written by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organisied the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion. On 12 February, Kobi Marimi won the competition and therefore performed the Israeli song in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Israel originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organisied the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion. The competition was won by Eden Alene, with a separate national final, HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion, held to select her entry "Feker Libi". However, the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Doli & Penn is a songwriting and production duo consisting of Dolev "Doli" Ram and Penn Hazut. Best known by songwriting and producing credits on Mizrahi-pop hits by Eden Ben Zaken, Dudu Aharon, Eden Hason, Omer Adam, and Eyal Golan, among others. In 2017, they wrote and produced the Israeli entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, "I Feel Alive" by Imri Ziv.
