The Big Show-Off is a 1945 American comedy film directed by Howard Bretherton and distributed by Republic Pictures. It teams Arthur Lake before his return to the Blondie film series and Dale Evans, most frequently seen with her husband Roy Rogers.
Nightclub pianist Sandy Elliott is madly in love with nightclub singer June Mayfield, who ignores his existence, preferring the obnoxious Wally Porter, the nightclub emcee. Sandy follows June to discover to his disgust that she is a big fan of professional wrestling. Sandy's friend Joe the night club owner decides to make the shy Sandy attractive to June by paying a thug to disrupt June's singing, then being thrown out by Sandy. Joe adds fuel to June's new, smoldering love for Sandy by making her promise not to tell a secret: that Sandy is really the masked wrestler known as "The Devil".

The season began on February 8 at the Daytona International Speedway with the Budweiser Shootout and ended on November 16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with the Ford 400. Despite only winning one race throughout the whole season, Matt Kenseth, driving the No.17 Ford for Roush Racing, was strongly consistent following the lone win, and was crowned the Winston Cup champion. His only win came in the third race of the 36 race season. Chevrolet took home the NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship after capturing 19 wins and 264 points over second-place finisher Dodge, who had nine wins and 203 points. Ford finished the year third with seven wins and 200 points, and Pontiac finished fourth with one win and 125 points.
Joseph Christopher Liggins, Jr. was an American R&B, jazz and blues pianist and vocalist who led Joe Liggins and his Honeydrippers in the 1940s and 1950s. His band appeared often on the Billboard magazine charts. The band's biggest hit was "The Honeydripper", released in 1945. Joe Liggins was the older brother of R&B performer Jimmy Liggins.

The first such company was founded by Herb Owen in 1925. It was the Northwest territory of the National Wrestling Alliance from the Alliance's inception in 1948 until 1992. The area was brought to its prime by Herb's son, Don Owen, and this version of Pacific Northwest Wrestling saw many of the top names in pro wrestling come through on a regular basis. The Pacific Northwest was considered one of the main pro wrestling territories from the 1960s to the 1980s.
