Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of the brothers Ed and Dean Roland, Will Turpin (bassist), Johnny Rabb (drummer), and Jesse Triplett. Formed in 1992, the original lineup consisted of the Roland brothers, bassist David Neal, guitarist Ross Childress, and drummer Shane Evans. It was their first album of new studio material since 1987's All, after which singer Milo Aukerman had left the band to pursue a career in biochemistry. The remaining members had changed the band's name to All and released eight albums between 1988 and 1995 with singers Dave Smalley, Scott Reynolds, and Chad Price. When Aukerman decided to return to music the group chose to operate as two acts simultaneously, playing with Aukerman as the Descendents and with Price as All. Anchors Aweigh is the sixth studio album to be recorded by American punk rock band the Bouncing Souls. It was released on August 26, 2003, though Epitaph Records. Following the release of their fifth studio album How I Spent My Summer Vacation (2001), bassist Bryan Kienlen ended an intimate relationship and wrote new material as a result of it. Recording took place at Lakeview Farms, North Brookfield, Massachusetts, and Water Music, Hoboken, New Jersey, with John Seymour as the main producer, and Kienlen and guitarist Pete Steinkopf as co-producers. Anchors Aweigh is a pop-punk and punk-rock album that has a darker sound than its predecessor; the band experimented with melodies and rhythms during the writing stage.

Production on the album was overseen by John Seymour, who previously produced the band's albums, How I Spent My Summer Vacation, and Anchors Aweigh.Simplicity was the band's last full-length album of new music until the release of 2023's Ten Stories High.

<i>Crucial Moments</i> 2019 EP by The Bouncing Souls

Crucial Moments is an EP by the Bouncing Souls that was released on March 15, 2019. The six song EP was released as part of a celebration of the band's 30th anniversary. The band also released a book detailing their history and supported both releases with a world tour. The title track was released as the first single and a music video was also released for the song to promote the EP.

<i>Volume 2</i> (The Bouncing Souls album) 2020 studio album by The Bouncing Souls

Volume 2 is the eleventh studio album by the Bouncing Souls. It was released on October 23, 2020 and was recorded in the days leading up to the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. The album contains 10 songs from their previous albums re-recorded in new styles, along with a new song, "World on Fire".
