A review in Freechristmusic.com said, "Sometimes when downloading mixtapes from people you haven't heard of before you go through a lot of stuff with really bad production. This was a nice surprise it sounds great, clearly some well done production on this one." [3]

Church Clothes is the first mixtape by Christian hip hop artist Lecrae, released for free on May 10, 2012, and hosted by DJ Don Cannon. It featured No Malice of Clipse on the song "Darkest Hour", and included production work by 9th Wonder, Boi-1da, S1 and Street Symphony. Label-mates Tedashii and Andy Mineo, as well as other fellow Christian hip-hop artists such as Dre Murray, Thi'sl, Swoope, Christon Gray, and Braille, also made appearances on the album. The mixtape was downloaded 100,000 times in 48 hours, and met with critical acclaim. It received controversy in Christian media upon its release due to its condemnation of hypocrisy in the Christian Church and Lecrae's collaboration with the mainstream producer Don Cannon. A shorter, remastered EP version was released on iTunes on June 25, 2012. The EP debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Christian Albums and Gospel Albums charts.

The idea of the "Skittles & Iced Tea" song came from the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case. Martin was shot and killed on the way home from a local store to buy Skittles and iced tea. This song represents the freedom, liberty, justice and everything else that the constitution stands for.

"Clap" is the second single released by Christian hip hop artist Hostyle Gospel featuring Gemstones, released on June 8, 2016. "The track "Clap" was produced by Tone Jonez ." The concept encourage Christian believers to applaud through the form of clap no matter what they are facing in their lives. Gospel Music Historian, Bob Marovich, described the group lyrics as "strapped with their bible as a holy weapon they chant infectiously at demons.” The groups stated that "We are given so many reasons to be defeated and hold our heads low, but it is in those times when we are at our bottom, all alone that we have to "Clap" for and encourage ourselves. Wherever we may end up, we are able to "Clap" your way through".

The Christian hip hop group worked with Tone Jonez, Lamorax, John Givez, Gemstones, Fred Lynch, Marty B, Laquisha Burries and Jonathan Jackson on the production on this album.
